I actually like the first picture better - it's got better mood lighting. The light in the second is too stark.

The lighting in the second is more realistic, the first looks like a 30 year old photograph that has started to dis-colour

not at all. The first one seems to be taken in the evening hours. Not sure what time of the day you'd actually have white light. :)
