Foo Fighters - In Your Honor

So? What's the word?

I very much like the two cd concept. One rocking and one accoustic.

In You Honor is a kick-ass song, though somehow it seems to build up and then the song is over before getting to the climax :?

The whole first cd is fast and loud and makes you believe in rock and roll again :)

The second cd, acoustic, is slow and mellow and Still is very beautiful.

That's all I got from the first listen.

Who else got it?

Arash 06-15-2005 01:42 AM

not the cd, but listening to "Best of you" makes me feel really good, i love that song.

Alex 06-15-2005 12:11 PM

Don't have it yet, but I'll sure pick it up one of these days.

Living_on_my_Hair 06-15-2005 01:04 PM

ohhhhh, I still hate you!! :P

Please do though. They are planning to do two shows in each town they play in - one rocking arena type and a small acoustic, intimate show. I think I need to go to both, even though I hate arena shows. :?

About half of the first disc is quite political - makes you rather sad... Love In Your Honor, the title song!!

allmike 06-16-2005 02:06 AM

Best of you is one of the best song of the year so far and defnetly love the video too :) I hope i;m able to get hold of album here.. still no news regarding Audioslave here :(

I downloaded the album around 2 weeks ago and love every song off the first disc... Lyrics like.. "In Your Honor I will die tonight!" just make me quiver. Good stuff... On the other hand, the second disc is kinda boring.. What can I say?? I'm just not a big fan of the acoustic stuff period. On that note, it's the best album since the Colour and the Shape!

think the first disk is brilliant - the second disk not too sure on - hoping it's gonna grown on me!

UKjovi 06-17-2005 07:13 PM

I've listerned to the first CD and on first listern i think this is their best yet . didnt like track 6 though but apart from that excellent!

Steelsy 06-20-2005 12:21 PM

I'm loving the new album not too sure on the softer disk - but its growing on me!

Alex 06-22-2005 05:25 PM

So I finally got to listen to it today - sorry Maria. I liked it a lot, the first disc a little better than the second because of the more rocking songs on it. But I also have to admit that I didn't pay much attention while listening to it. Foo Fighters tend to have that effect on me, although they've made some excellent songs.

Go back and keep it in replay - the first 5 songs of the first disc are absolutely amazing!!

Sorry, Alex, I for sure thought you'd rock out to it. :(

UKjovi 06-22-2005 06:20 PM

Alex clear your mind of everything and listern to it again its brillient :D

~saz~ 06-22-2005 09:02 PM

I'm headbanging like a loony on loon tablets to the first disk. So good!!!! :P

UKjovi 06-23-2005 10:20 AM

What do you think to the second one though? abit boring? the first is amazing though :D

Yeah and a clear mind wouldn't hurt either..

Anyway, it's not that I didn't like it -I did- but I just couldn't get into the songs very much. That's all.

UKjovi 06-23-2005 01:01 PM

Alex go have a shower then have great sex while dripping wet . after sit outside with a towel wrapped around your moist body with your legs up so the air can go up underneath the towel and listern to it again. i'm sure you'll like it better that way :D

I have only listened to the second one once. I have not been in an acoustic mood, hence it is pointless listen to it more than once, cause I wouldn't be able to appreciate it. Gotta wait to get into the mood. However, I do think 'Still' is absolutely beautiful.

Oh, btw, the sex and towel idea sounds amazing and the second disc sounds just perfect with it. Can you find me man now? lol.

UKjovi 06-23-2005 07:22 PM

:D Glad you liked it , so what type of man do you want?

LOL, no I meant that the things Maria's asking for -caring, emotional, honest, appreciative, sense of humor, someone who actually is willing to put some effort into it- don't usually apply on men :P

Although Maria's hot of course. 8)

Captain Walrus 06-24-2005 12:39 AM

So, got the album the other day, listened to the first disk one and a half times so far, and the second once.

First disk - Like Alex, I couldn't actually concentrate on it all that much. Sounds reasonably promising, but also does sound a bit 'typical Foo Fighters'. I don't think they've ever made a truly amazing album, and that hasn't changed

Second disk - Again needs more listens, but it is all sounding quite samey on first listen. And well, it aint exactly Damien Rice, is it? :?

why of course. There needs to be a 'connection' -- not sure how else to explain it. :)
