Your favorite from Destination Anywhere?
What's your favorite song from Destination Anywhere?
This one is hard for me to narrow down too. I think the CD is brilliant and Jon's songs are so deep and thought-provoking. I can get lost in his lyrics. I don't think I can narrow it down to one song, so I'm going to pick: Every Word Was a Piece of My Heart, Staring At Your Window..., It's Just Me, and Cold Hard Heart. It's not that I'm a sucker for ballads. LOL I think the lyrical narrative of Midnight in Chelsea is wonderfully written too and I really enjoy Little City and Destination Anywhere as well. Hmmm.... obviously, this is one of my favorite CDs in my entire collection. Becky |
Midnight in Chelsea and Janie are my two favorite songs off of this record.
|
Yeah - I think this is definately a very under-rated album. I think Destination Anywhere & Naked r two of my favourites, with Janie coming in close behind.

This one is easier for me to answer - Janie... & Every Word Was a Piece of My Heart.
|
Hey Guys,
My favourite song on that album is It's Just Me. I just think it is so heart felt and thought provoking. :D |
My favourites are Every word was a piece of my heart and Destination Anywhere. I also like August 7th because of the lyrics and knowing what it is about.
Taija |
for me it's every word was a piece of my heart ,janie.
|
I'd have to say It's Just Me, or Destination Anywhere :)
|
August 7. You can really feel Jon's anger there.
|
i like naked (great lyrics *gg*) and every word was a piece... best- unfortunately naked was live quite bad...
|
id say my fav would be August 7, 4.15 but not the album version the achoustic version on the midnight in chealse single. Don't know why he put the other version on the achoustic one is more emotional.
Sad Song Night was another B side that should of been on the album. |
Destination anywhere. no question
|
Da
My favorites would have to be It's Just Me, Cold Hard Heart, and Every Word, and Destination Anywhere. Oh but you can't forget Midnight in Chelsea, thats such a great lyrical song!
|
Destination Anywhere, no doubt!
|
That's hard. But not because there are so many songs on the album I like.
Let's see. Queen of New Orleans - I like the verses but hate the chorus Janie - too Brit pop, not bad though Midnight - well. it's okay. Ugly - no way Starring - no thanks Every word - I'll pass on this one Learning how to fall - sounds like Tom Petty doesn't it? Naked - no Cold hard heart - kind of interesting. one of the better ones. Little City - same as Cold hard heart, acutally better than Cold hard heart August - I love the b-side version but don't like the album version It's just me - I like that one. Don't know why but especially the line "Those Bukowsky poems you couldn't live without". And the "Ooooh you better believe". Destination Anywhere - Love the chorus and the part where it's only Jon and the keys. The lyrics are a little springsteenish. That's a good one, too. |
Everyword was a piece of my heart. some times i just put that song on repeat and just listen to it over and over and over and over....
i also really like August 7th, and Janie and Destination anywhere I absolutely LOVE the cd. It's my favorite of any bj cd out there. For any of you out there who don't have it, i highly recommend it. it's a great album! juliet |
I like the demo's he brought out for this album, especially Drive and I Talk to Jesus :D :D
|
I think the CD is brilliant, but well lets see it's gotta be August,Ungly,It's just me,I think and Destination I could go on,because it's really hard to pick down just one!
|
The best (for me) is
Destination anywhere!!!! but also Ugly, and Janie don't.....! |

For me it's Queen Of New Orleans... I don't know why, I guess I love the sound at the beggining. And Midnight In Chelsea is very special to me because Jon filmed the video for it only 50 kms away from me and it was the only time he came to my country...

Well hard for me to chose but here are my fav's:
*Queen of New Orleans: I like the way Jon sings it..sounds a bit like "rap" to me ;) *Learning how to fall: One of my favorites 'cause it pretty much sums up stages of my life and the way I tried to get out of them. *Destination anywhere: there are parts of the song I don't really like but after all it's still one of my favs *August 7, 4:15: I love the acoustic version of it! Great, amazing and powerful song and well we all know the background of it which makes it somehow more special |
This is such a hard question lol i love that album i would say Leaning how to fall
