Live8 on TV

The following TV stations will show Live8:

RBB (German TV station) from 2pm to 7.25 pm (probably no Jovi though)
ATV + (Austrian channel) from 4pm to 3am
DR 1 (I think it's a swiss channel) from 4 pm to 5.50 pm and 10.30 pm to 2 am

2pm??? That's what - 6am here??? Goodness, I have to set my alarm.

Arash 06-17-2005 11:00 PM

the one in Berlin?

what channel will it be on in the US

Bleeding Purist 06-18-2005 01:23 AM

It doesn't look like they have the USA broadcast details worked out just yet.

I would bet the BBC will do a better job though, the USA will likely interrupt alot, have some stupid host talking over the performances, etc..whatever they can do to completely ruin it in true American fashion. They will also probably only show parts of it rather than just airing the complete show.

Yeah, you are right. Hour long commercials, I can't wait.

I hope they'll put it on HBO or one of the premium cable stations that WON'T interrupt it for commercials.

It more than likely will be released on dvd. But since I'm just looking forward to hearing the new single, this won't be until the new album is out. Damn.

Thomas Anderson 06-18-2005 03:22 AM

Isn't the whole thing being webcast anyway? That would be (I'd guess) uninterupted

Here I'd guess it will be on one of the BBC Radio channels and probably live all day on BBC2, perhaps using the interactive feature to watch different shows

ugh - yeah!!

but there's got to be several channels broadcasting the individual shows, right? At least I hope so. I want to be able to switch back and forth between the cities, not watch what edit they feed me. Am I dreaming here?
