If I hear one more word...
 
...about how good guns and knives are supposed to be and how we need them to protect ourselves - i am going to scream.

Honestly, it makes me mad how brainwashed some people can be.

In the last two weeks here in costa rica, someone from my costa rican family got shot and died while walking on the street in the center of san jose. another one got threatened with a knife. another one got stabbed but fortunately did not die. someone is threatening me and my friend and this person has already killed two people.

talk about how secure life is if everyone has a gun!

Hearing stuff like that scares me as well. I'm moving to Argentina in 3 weeks, and the crime rate is high there. So hearing about stabbings and crimes is kinda putting me off. But I've been saving for this since I was 15, so I'm trying not to think about it too much :8
There were a bunch of people at my school who used to carry knives, but nobody ever did anything about it.

weŽre doing a guided group tour thingy in cuba, so yeah hopefully it will be different :)

youŽll be fine, donŽt worry about it! until about two weeks ago it wasnt like that here either, iŽm sure its just bad luck. just go there with common sense (and never much money in your pockets). enjoy it as much as you can. a friend of mine is moving to buenos aires next week, maybe you two can hook up :wink:
