Your favorite Tico vocal?

I don't want to leave Tico out, so what is your favorite song that Tico has sung: Waltzing Mathilda, Crazy, or What a Wonderful World?

I love them all! His voice is perfect for What a Wonderful World and his versions of Crazy and Waltzing Mathilda are terrific too. But I'll say my favorite of the three is Waltzing Mathilda.

I absolultely love his great deep voice. I would go for Waltzing Mathilda. I don't know the lyrics at the moment but there's one part with "Whisky" and it is so funny how he sings this part (a little like he was drunk).

Martin 08-05-2002 04:36 PM

i'm also for waltzing matilda...

Will 08-05-2002 06:04 PM

Crazy, but his backing on Love For Sale is really cool

Rachel 08-05-2002 09:21 PM

Tico

LOL Noone else has picked this one but "What a Wonderful World". I guess its just a song I like alot because it reminds me back at my old school where the pre-schoolers always did sign-language to this song while singing it, and its just so cute to hear Tico do it too. :)

Craaazy in that deep ol' voice of his is my favourite 8)

Since it's a Tom Waits song I'll go with Waltz.... ehm.... Tom Trauberts Blues.
Does anyone know why they called it Waltzing Matilda?

Why is it called Waltzing Mathilda? I always wondered if it was based on the old standard also called Waltzing Mathilda. I know the one Tom Waits wrote is different, but I haven't heard the standard in many years.

The Tom Waits songs is no different to the Tico song. Same Lyrics, same harmonies they just gave it a different name. Maybe they thought we are not smart enough to remember the title when no one actually sings "Tom Trauberts Blues nanana shalala yeah heyhey". I don't know.

Becky 08-06-2002 04:57 PM

I know the Tom Waits song is the same as the Tico song. What I was saying is that the Tom Waits song is different from the old standard called Waltzing Mathilda. I always wondered if that song inspired Tom Waits' version, but I haven't heard it in so long that I don't remember what it was about.

I'm sorry. Now that I've read your post again, it's actually clear what you meant... I never heard the standard. Someone from Australia could maybe sing it to us.

I go for Crazy

miek 08-12-2002 12:46 PM

I didn't read all the post but I know that Waltzing Matilda is a kind of a legend in Austria. It had something to do with a cowboy if I remember correctly. Is there not an Aussie who can tell the storie??

If I had to pick something it would be wonderfull world, but I love to hear Tico sing a blues or something

Mr Bluesman 08-16-2002 11:58 PM

Yes Crazy is something different! :D

flower 08-21-2002 04:05 PM

I've only heard Tico singing "Crazy" and i love it very much, with his clear, deep voice....

Rob 08-28-2002 04:40 PM

The only song I've heard him sing is Crazy, and that was pretty good.

Hey good job for "stealing the show" Tico, just like you do every year. :D

Rosscoe 08-30-2002 03:31 PM

I gotta admit, i havnt heard that song for ages, i havnt sung it since i was in primary school. but the words are almost burnt into my head. its a shame what happened to the swagman though.

the story was based on an actual event for those who don't know!

Dawn 08-30-2002 04:57 PM

I like the backing of Love for sale,
I personally hate the song Waltzing Matilda as I had to sing it in the school choir, many years ago!

Joverl 10-03-2002 12:31 PM

I absolutely LOVE What a wonderful World. I really like Tico´s deep voice and it fits the song perfectly :D

I hope so. I'm taking my friend to the next tour, (he's never seen BJ before) he's a fan of Bon Jovi, a great drummer and he is one of Tico's biggest fans. I'm sure he'd be trilled to hear him sing!

iwan_rasta 12-19-2002 05:02 PM

Waltzing Mathilda 8)

ShaSha 12-19-2002 06:27 PM

At an acoustic show here in CT in October, Tico sang part of "Woke Up This Morning" (the Sopranos theme song). Actually, Jon started it but then they all decided Tico's voice would be better. He only sang a verse or so but it was really cool.
