You need to assume that there is a meaning of life in the 1st place.

I don't.

I'm kinda like Jim on this one - I don't think life has a "meaning" as traditionally defined. There are things that bring meaning to my life, but they're not going to be the same for everybody. I don't think there's one preset destination or goal for us all to arrive at - no one thing or moment in everyone's life that we can all attain, then breathe a sigh of relief and say "ok, now I know what life is all about."

I heard that cows know the meaning of life. I doubt that's true, though. I have no idea of what life really means. I just don't know.
