Wembley 23/6/95 1st Show of 3
Anyone else seen the DVD going around of the Friday night show of the 3 nights the band played at Wembley in 1995?
Its taken direct from the main camera feed and is of outstanding quality apart from Richies guitar on the first three songs. This DVD is easily the best live video/DVD I have seen including all of the official releases. Included on it are some fantastic versions of Blood On Blood, Someday Ill Be saturday Night, Rockin All Over The World!! and This Aint a Love Song. :D Before TAALS Jon checks his watch and asks the crowd which song they want the guys to play next. He gives them the option of In These Arms, I Believe, Ill Be There For You and Never Say Goodbye. IBTFY gets the loadest cheer but instead the band launch into Good Guys Dont Always Wear White!! As I missed the Friday show by only attending the Saturday and Sunday gigs (Live From London is the Sunday show) its taken me almost 10 years to the day to catch up with the show I missed! If any of you get the chance to get this and havent already its a must. I would be interested to know how many of you die hard collectors already own this. |
I only went to the Sat/Sunday too, would love to see the friday's show on DVD! 8)

Well... I hope there is this show but to be honest, I don't believe it. Anyway, who are you talking about Donna? Obie O'Brien? |

It's no joke .. I actually pride myself on discovering this one. The ebay seller got some VHS tapes from an estate sale (5 in total I believe) that included this show. He had no idea what he had until I told him. I own one of these tapes and the DVD transfers are spreading around.

I have it too, more information is on my website www.thierry.dds.nl on the dvd section.

Anyone want to do me a copy? I'd pay good money for it!!

It's not only the first three songs. The first half hour sounds like a soundcheck. They mixed Richie down during his 2nd Always solo  .
But then again, if you want to learn how to play the first 3 songs on drums or bass, you must check it out. I don't know if there are many versions out there, but mine looks like a VHS tranformation. It's a it blocky sometimes. Apart from the sond quality now and then, it's a cool dvd. Oh, and it's not from the main camera, but it's the footage from the big screens next to the stage. You can see snippets from the BOG videoclip when they play it. Same goes for DC. |
