Strory behing BJ's Lyrics

Hi. Bon Jovi's lyrics mean so much to me.. But there are a few of his songs i don't understand.

Runaway - I have a vague idea of what it's about.. but i need a full explanation.

Someday i'll be Saturday Night - I'm interested to know what Bon Jovi means by "Saturday Night".

August 415 - This i have NO idea what it's about. Help, please?

Janie don't take your love to town - There are other songs that have "Janie" in it.. like "Janie's got a gun". Who/what is "Janie"? I also need an explanation of this song.

Thanks a lot in advance
Rhys Andrews

EDIT: I'm also extremely interested in the story of the Always Music Video. Listening to the song, it's pretty basic what it's about.. But when i saw the music video, it seemed a bit more complicated. The bits i didn't understand was the end bit, what the girl was doing, who that guy was, how the girl felt about the painting, how Jon felt about it when he got there, etc... And the other bit was when Jon was at the party thing.. and those 2 lil kids fell on the doorstep, and when Jon was on TV? Thanks in advance.

His? As in Jon's? You do know that it's a band, right? And that Jon doesn't write the songs by himself?

Read the title of the song.

A little girl died on August 7th at 4:15.

It's not like they're rocket science, people read way too much into the lyrics.

Are you okay? Seriously.. does it matter if i say "his" or "their"? You still know what i mean! Yes, i knew they were a band.

You see.. thats why i had a VAGUE idea.. Thats why i was asking for a "FULL explanation". You see.. I thought there might be more to it. Do you always pick out the tiny little bad things out of peoples topics?

Thankyou. May i ask how this girl died? Like.. What made THE BAND write the song? Just a question.

Itīs not THE BAND song. Jon wrote it for HIS solo album.

The daughter of BJ's manager died in a car accident I believe. That's where JBJ wrote this song for.

Saturday Night is the end of a long, miserable week. You've been at school or at work all week and you wish it was Saturday Night. On Saturday Night you have fun and you don't have to think about work or school or whatever for a few hours...

If they refer to the band as "him", then yes.

In their most simplistic forms,

1) Runaway is about a bit of an out of control young girl. I think Jon said he was inspired to write it from making his daily trip in and out of NYC and passing all the hookers on the side of the street. I guess this song was an imagioning of who one of these girls is and who she got to where she was.

2)The lyric "I'm feeling like a Monday but Someday I'll Be Saturday Night" is obviously a metaphor for a person who is feeling as low as s/he can be but wont give up because s/he's sure that someday they'll be back on their feet and feeling as good as they can again, ie, feeling like a Saturday Night. It's all written in the third person, the first introduces us to Jim and Billy G and then by the first chorus it becomes much more universal. Easily the most uplifiting song ever written.

3) August 7, 4:15 was written about the mysterious hit-and-run death of Kathrine Korzillus, who is the daughter of Bon Jovi's manager Paul Korzillus. Even to this day the crime has never been solved despite Jon even appearing on the tv show "Unsolved Mysteries".

4) "Janie....." was written accoriding to Jon one night after he and his wife had a huge fight and she kicked him out of bed, he said he went into the bathroom and wrote that song right there. It's obvious then that the lyrics are a plea from Jon to his wife not to leave him. I guess the reason he used the name Janie was to give it a more universal feel.

That's pretty much all their about without going into alot of detail.
