Richies Double Neck Tele Question
anyone know what pickup he has in the bridge?(top guitar)
to me it looks like a hotrails, you can kinda see it in the new aol video but just for a second. |
got any photos we can have a better look?
could be a cool rails or any other rail copies they've got out their now. kinda a sacrilidge to stick one of them in a 52 tele IMo even if it is a double neck. |
i dont have any photos, i was hoping someone else did!
i know what you mean, but maybe he left the bottom pickup stock. it seems he solos on the bottom amd plays rythm on the top. it sounds good though, i dont have any problems with his tone there. what is a cool rails? and who makes other single coil rails? (im thinking of puttting a hotrails or a little '59 in my tele.) THANKS! |
a couple of people have pictures in their sigs. where did these pics come from?

Gold Lace Sensors?
Dunno - doesn't look like a hot rails though. |
k definetely not a rails of any sort. no rails there for a start and it would be a dodgy output balance considering he has a normal tele neck pickup in there.
the cool rails is basically a lower out put hot rails. still got the 2 rails cept a much lower output. i'd imagine the bottom is used for soloing since it's only got the bridge pickup but both bridge pickups look the same and i'm not sure if they're sensors either because you can see the pole pieces underneath which you cant usually with lace sensors. http://www.fender.com/products/searc...tno=0992121001 is a good possibility. notice how the pole pieces aren't exactly bright metallic .... sounds like the tonal characteristics that richie would go for too. |
cool thanks, i could see the poles before. yeah not a hotrails.
it didnt sound harsh enough to be one anyway i thought, thats why i was wondering. yeah it has black poles....i wonder what it is? |
