remember the dual guitar attack of the 7800/slippery era
listening to the begininng of the new version of "standing", I agree with somebody on another board who said it had a bit of an iron maiden feel to it.
Big Ballsy and Raw Power I remember when Jon used to strap on an electric and play a nice beefy riff along with Richie, I don't think he has hit a power chord since the These Days tour and I really hope the new album brings back some big thick dual guitar rippin' to the live shows. Paragon |
I can't shake the feeling of 7800 everytime I hear the intro to Last Man Standing. It's making me so ****ing excited.

Aloha !
A guitar battle would be nice, Jon hitting the chords, and Richie following with a few great licks. Velvet Revolver have a guitarbattle in the end of Set Me Free, it really makes the song a lot better. But I can't see it happening with Bon Jovi. They'd have to rehearse for that. Why is it Jons guitar is always turned down so low in the live mix? Most songs you can hardly hear it and wonder why he even bothers playing it.

Maybe with Bobby on the new tour there will be more of a guitar sound to the songs?

if the snippets of the new tracks on bj.com are anything to go by, then Jon should be playing more electric guitar on the songs like Last man standing, Story of my Life and Novocaine.
Though with Bobby on tour maybe not. |
by the way, I wasn't around during the farenheight/Slippery era, so do you remember in what songs did Jon used to strap on an electric and play a nice beeffy riff along with Richie?

That's weird, cos I had a dream a few nights back about a guitar battle between Jon and Richie...but then halfway through a 7ft tall inflatable Madonna came along and killed them both so I'm not sure that's a good sign
