I just got this e-mail from Bon Jovi.com
-----------------------------------------

Dear BON JOVI FANS and AMERICAN XS PLATINUM SUBSCRIBERS,
This note is to inform you all of the scheduled Shut Down of American XS Platinum.

Begun in the Fall of 2004, AmericanXS Platinum (AXP) was intended to be the premium platform for providing Bon Jovi fans access, content and information above and beyond the basic function of www.bonjovi.com. Due to circumstances unforeseen we will be terminating this planned program.

We understand the disappointment many of you have experienced as we were busy coming to this resolution. AXP did not turn out to be the experience we'd hope it would be and for that, we apologize for not living up to your expectations. Earlier this summer we ceased accepting new memberships, however AXP had many current members. Each of you subscribed and paid $10.00 to be a member - and we appreciate that. We know that $10.00 can go to other things in each of your lives.

Therefore, every AXP subscriber will receive a full $10.00 refund on the credit card or PayPal account with which they paid for their membership.

We hope to have all refunds completed by October 8, 2005. Should you not receive a refund by this date (and it not appear on your credit card statement), please email Customer Support at support-americanxsplatinum@fearlessconcepts.com to inquire. Customer Support will be open only through October 31. We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of each and every one of the Bon Jovi fans who took part in this project.

AXP the website (http://axp.bonjovi.com) will officially close its doors on Friday September 30. There will no new additions added to the AXP section of the website during that refund period. Please remember this includes the '@bonjovi.com' email address you may have set up as part of your membership - it will no longer be avail as of Sept 30. We are keeping the message boards open so that any of you who need to gather information on how to keep in touch without the AXP site can do so. As always, please make generous use of the main message board at www.bonjovi.com which is in the process of being upgraded considerably.

The AXP content that had been exclusive will be put into the main website eventually for all to view - we appreciate those of you who took advantage of the AXP offer and had the exclusive access to that content until this point.

Please continue to visit www.bonjovi.com as we upgrade and augment the site leading into and throughout the upcoming album and touring cycle.

I suspected as much - no ticket sales :(

I suppose that's fair enough, but like you said Kathleen it means no tickets pre-sales :(

Kathleen 09-01-2005 01:23 AM

Yeah - it's fair enough but I don't see it as a good sign. Is the record company refusing to support the band in any way at all - or is it the band that wants it closed?

Gee - ya think? LOL

I just think it's too bad it was poorly organized - it could have been a good thing.

It really could have been. It's possible the band was just not satisfied with it. I was under the impression BJM had nothing to do with AXP and just gave it stuff to update. Maybe AXP went bankrupt or something. I don't think we'll ever know.

AxS was bollocks, total rip off. Good riddance

Arash 09-01-2005 02:38 AM

Gee, i loved my email. :(

jeb865 09-01-2005 05:30 AM

eehh, We got some rare songs and other stuff while still getting our money back. I can't complain. I would have liked to see it better implemented. It wasn't bad for what it was.
