I'm not visiting this forum anymore because I don't have the time for it. But I still would rather pay a few bucks, instead of being bothered by those pop-ups.

But you don't give people a choice, so ofcourse they block pop-ups! And by creating such a stupid window-thing more en more people will leave your forum I think. Cause they'll still find pop-ups anoying and it's more likely that they'll leave instead of removing the pop-up killer.

I agree, many of us have said time and time again that we would happily donate to help the site running if it meant no more popups, but if you don't give us the chance to do that we can do nothing but block the adverts, which no-one would ever click anyway other than to close them.

I use Firefox also and I am not having anything pop up. It all looks the same to me as it has recently.
I do understand the frustration though. I would much rather donate to the site than get attacked by pop ups if I visited frequently (which I do).

and you are not alone!! We've even had a poll on that.

Peter, that pop-up crap is ****ing ridiculous! Don't tell me you actually think it is a good idea!

It's stupid beyond words and all it will accomplish is for people stop posting. You don't seriously think people will revert back to reading stupid pop-up ads which should be illegal to begin with.

****ING BULLSHIT!

I think so too. People will come here and when they see how complicated it is to navigate the site they'll just leave.

Peter, my computer sometimes freezes when pop-ups appear so I'm using a pop-up blocker partly for that. I'd rather have those old ads that came in-between stuff than this cling the message does. I think I could cope better if it came up every other page - but every single link????

I thought we were so much better with this new software - everything was going so smoothly and now this :(

Out of curiosity, how much does it cost to run the boards? I'm just curious. Sorry if it's a personal question.

Same for me: no problems over here, but I do understand the frustration.

I don't understand why some forums can leave without all this (pop up) but not JT.

JT should win an award because after all the problems during a long time trying to use this board with pop up, we (at last) have a better site, we are happy with it and now this window !!!
The best of the best !

I won't change anything, the other forums i use don't need that. Webmasters never did something like that.

Either people won't visit JT anymore or they'll download what they need to not see this window anymore.

Well the HUGE banner we have now is a million times better than that popup we were getting earlier. That was quite clearly the worst thing JT has ever had. Im extremely glad peter that you have removed that, because I definately would of left the board with it running. I am like Keeper, my pc is very detramental when it comes to popups and they like to freeze my computer. Thats why I now use Firefox WITH a popupblocker. I have to use this, or I could barely use JT. I dont like the huge banner, but I would be prepared to put up with it IF necessary.

I use the Norton Anti-virus, and the Yahoo! pop-up blocker, and i don't get anything at all.
