Anyone know what the big issue is with Bon Jovi/Oprah?

Apparently Bon Jovi was in Chicago the last few days filming an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey show. Richie called in to the MIX radio station in Chicago yesterday and said that Bon Jovi has donated $1,000,000 to Hurricane Katrina victims. Then today I found this on the web:

Yes, THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW is for real. BON JOVI's involvement in the show has been leaking out here and there. Any references to the show are being deleted however from official Bon Jovi sites as the band has been asked NOT to spread any details about the show until after it tapes... we ask that fans honor this request as well. If you know something, hold onto that info until we are given the OK to let folks know about the show...

Anyone know what gives?

All I know is that I submitted myself to try and get on the show and I think my parents and girlfriend tried to get me on too. Must not have happened! :(

About a month ago it leaked out that on Oprah.com they were looking for BJ fans and wanted you or someone who knew you were crazy about the band to write in and tell Oprah what you loved about BJ etc.... They taped the show this past Thursday, Jon surprised a girl in Philly I think with a visit and the band is performing and Jon did an interview with Oprah. It hasn't been put out there yet when the show will air. I would bet it's around US release time and the new season of Oprah is on the 19th of September so.......

The donation of $1 million is very cool. I had also heard the show taped this past Thursday. Richie did spill the beans on a couple of radio interviews but any reference to those interviews have been deleted on the backstage and bj.com boards. I'm guessing the show will air fairly soon.

it's a cool thing to do, no matter who you are or who has done it.

So far here we've raised about $800. We're collecting for another week, then donating it to the Red Cross.

We don't get Oprah here :(
