music reviewers first impression of bounce (alledgedly!)
:D
this has been translated from Spanish..... Great! New release from NJ boys, Bounce, will be released on september 23d. This is the track list: 1. Undivided 2. Everyday (single) 3. The Distance 4. Hey Joey 5. Misunderstood 6. All About Loving You 7. Hook Me Up 8. Right Side Of Wrong 9. Love Me Back To Life 10. You Had Me From Hello 11. Bounce 12. Open All Night After listen to it once, i can tell you that really rocks. Ballads like the older ones, powerful and heavy guitars, not as commercial as they should, new sounds and lots of feeling. It recovers the feeling of the first 4 records, but whith more 'modern metal touch'. I will keep you informed." |
i wondered and thought about that a thousand times and now i'm gonna ask; i'm obviously not a native speaker but i was one of the best in my class in english- still i can't make no meaningful sense of "YOU HAD ME FROM HELLO" could anyone please explain to me what that should mean???????????? thanx in advance...
|
I can see how you're having trouble - certianly not a standard English phrase.
What I think it means is - From the moment you said 'Hello' I fell in love with you. I'm guessing it'll be a ballad. Hope this makes it clearer. Mike |
thanks! that was the only thing i could imagine... quite a strange phrase :-)

Hi!
Actually, i think "You had me from Hello" is inspired by the film "Jerry Macquire" (sorry bout spelling!) because when he and his lover split, and he comes back after his only client has won his team the point in a huge football game, he tries to apologise to her for being too committed to his work, etc, etc, and at the end, she says "shut up, you had me from hello". That's just my guess, but that's the film that immediately sprung to mind when i read the title!!! Maybe i'm right?!?! Bye! |
You're right JBJRSgirl .... the movie Jerry McGuire made that pharse a part of pop culture.
|
I also thought the same thing when I just seen the title name of the song. But in the movie she says "You had me at hello". Not sure if it's the same as the movie, if he changed it a bit, or maybe he just misquoted it. He did take the phrase Thank you for loving me from Meet Joe Black. Maybe we have to wait for the lyrics or listen to the song to actually see.
|
I'm starting to get confused now  - Hopefully all will cleared up when we get to listen to the song.

You Had Me From Hello is also the name of a country song from Kenny Chesney, which was also inspired by that line in Jerry McGuire. Just a little tidbit... 8) |

tom cruise said that to his wife. as far as i remember, they seperated and then he wanted her back and he went to her house and talked a lot to her and asked her to come back and she said "you had me from hello". hope this helps. krisi |
READ JBJ Headquarters Q & A ...
Hi everyone, I had to join because this was driving me nuts.... :?
The title comes from the movie Meet Joe Black. Jon saw the movie and when Brad Pitt said that phrase he rushed home and wrote the song. :D :D You have to go to BJ Headquarters and go into the Q & A's.....it's all in there. Cheers DDB |

music reviewers first impresses for Bounce
The idea "You had me from Hello" is taken from the movie Jerry MCguire--and it will be one of three ballads from BOUNCE.
