different version of always?

i asked the dj in work last night to give us some bon jovi to which she put on a really wierd version of always.

the guitars sounded like they'd been done on different amps. the structure was different, some piano parts were different and the vocals were really noticably different in parts.....

as far i remember the single was pretty much the same as the cross roads cut but this was really different.

any idea what exactly she played?

nah i was sotn ecold sober and i thought it mighta been from the boxset but I failed to see the point cos it just sounded like a hack job of someone editing it to be honest.

It must be the boxset version (Original Demo).. Was there a guitar solo? Because in the boxset version it's just like a how do you explaiin it.. synthenized piece? And, in the boxset version JBJ sings really powerfully for the last chorus.

Why is everyone assuming it's the box set version? If it were the Box set version, I'm sure he'd know. It sounds to me like it was the version recorded at A&M studios. Maybe Seb can clear up more info on this specific track as I'm not quite sure but I know they recorded "Someday I'll be saturday night" around '94/95ish as well.

I have a version of Always, don't know where it was recorded or anything.

*It starts just with a piano and Jon singing. An electric guitar adds a few little ad libs in when Jon sings "since you've left me it's been rainin'" (instead of "it's been rainin' since you left").

*The chorus is normal, missing the end bridge like the single edit.

*Drums kick in on the second verse like normal.

*The next big difference is the solo, what Richie plays is entirerly different and at the end of the solo the song kicks back in with the chorus.

*There is no key change unlike the demo.

*The song plays on and ends like the live versions do but without the last chorus of just Jon and the piano.

I don't kno what this is. I believe it is another demo recorded well before Crossroads. Maybe this is what was played.

Hope this helps

Keep the Faith
PS Does anyone actually know what this version of Always is?

That's what I think it'll be, it's a great version; semi-acoustic. They did record SIBSN too but sadly that song has not yet been released.
