Who are Disturbed? I am usually aware of bands even if I am not into them, but I have never heard of this one before. My students aren't even into them, so I can't figure it out.

Oh and just ignore that idiot. 20 years from now the question will remain, Disturbed who????

Disturbed was the only band to sell more albums this week than Bon Jovi.

No, I know that, but are they even popular? What do they sing?

All I know is that this is their third album. They play at smaller venues, usually holding a couple thousand people. Kind of an angry man's band if you know what I mean. I've heard one or two of their songs, which weren't bad but certainly not worthy of bragging rights.

I like Disturbed, so I may be a tad biased here, but I see nowhere where any member of the band bashes BJ. Sure, they celebrate beating them. Sure, a couple of over zealous fans may have the odd bash. Who remembers the days of yore on this message board when everyone signed up to another bands board, (was it the Def Leppard board?) just to go and bash them (that was amusing. Wrong perhaps, but amusing). Most people over on the Disturbed board seem to have a bit of respect for BJ anyway.

They all do appear to love Disturbed a lot. Makes you wonder how different it would be over there if Seb was a Disturbed fan :D

Now there is tons of 'very bad and dangerous' groups...

HIM ripping out the wings of a butterfly...
Rasmus before in the shadows, no with no fear ...

In this message board we always complain about the 'live life' and happy lyrics of BJ, but I find even easier to do 'darker' and 'dangerous' lyrics like most of these groups...

Example:
'In the darkness you can find my vampire heart,
no ligth, only silence, today you can die'

C'mon, it is always the same, a little of darkness, a little of silence, a little of death...and the funny thing is that this is not considered as a cliché, but BJ is...

To Disturbed, to HIM, to Rasmus, to all these 'scary' and 'bad' bands, all that I can say ... You can go home!!

Disturbed outsold Bon Jovi in the US. Is Disturbed's album even on any charts in the rest of the world? I somehow doubt that album sold a million copies worldwide tihs week.

Disturbed here in Spain, for example? One or two album sales, nobody knows them, including me before this week ...
And here BJ is big always, no Oprah here, no TV shows with BJ yet, but...#2 and near 50K album sales in a week!! Only dumbs can think that BJ sells 500K records in Europe because they appear at Oprah's, europeans don't know even who she is...

I think they made a valid point. Good for them to get respect for their music only.
