Jon's voice in 1996

I was watching the Yokohoma concert last night. I always have felt that Jon sounded best during the New Jersey tour. I have to say though, as for vocal range, he really sounded damn good in 96. He nailed the songs from These Days they performed, and certainly could still carry the older tunes.

Anyone else notice that?

No I've never noticed that. Thanks for pointing it out and posting. Keep up the good work.

Definitely, Jon has never sounded better then he did back in the mid ninties. That was the absolute peak of his vocal capabilities. For any doubters, just listen to him singing Something To Believe In. WOW.

Listen to Blood On Blood in 1989. Jon has never sounded any better than late eighties.

Last night I was editing the wav files from An Evening with Bon Jovi (1992) and was blown away once again by how good that concert was. I hadn't listened to it for quite awhile.

Definitely the best acoustic version of Prayer I've ever heard them play. Also, We Gotta Get Out Of This Place and It's My Life (the cover version) kicked ass that night.

I'd say his voice peaked on Blaze Of Glory and Keep The Faith. There was a marked decline by These Days when it started to get that whiny almost country element that it retains to this day. These Days tour was the best I've seen though.

He was still a great vocalist in 96 but since then he's been on a downward slide unfortunately.

I never know what his best period was. Sometimes I just think those bad quakity bootlegs from 1985 are just great and then I think the Jersey tour was the best. Other times I just think 1993 was the hammer and then also 1995(not so much 1996).

What I am sure of is that JON has been one of the top 5 frontmen for a decade and now I wouldn't even put him in the top 50.
