'CADILLAC MAN' from 1991....A jovi original??

Greetings dudes & dudettes!

For those h-u-g-e Jovi fans, who'd know about unreleased tracks and such,I have a wee li'l question for you --

Am watching the excellent Live DVD from Osaka in '91 and I think Jon introduces one of the tracks as 'brand new' and for the "bootleggers to get those tapes rolling"-- it's called 'Cadillac Man'. A wonderful track,is it a Jovi original?? Maybe it came out as an obscure B-side somewhere,or,maybe 'twas just played at this show and ne'er resurfaced?

'Go raibh mile maith agat'(Thanking You Kindly) for any info on this rare gem...*

It's an original written for the movie Cadillac Man, but not used in it. They played it live a few times, but have never released a studio version.

It was written by Jon and Richie, just looked it up.

It was officially recorded by Johnny Hallyday (French singer) on his album Ca Ne Change Pas in 1991. Quite a good version also :)

The album is "Ça ne change pas un homme" = "It doesn't change a man".

Johnny Hallyday has got a great voice and he's a nice guy off stage it seems. The rest of him sucks.

He's kind of our Elvis that never died.

Yeah it's a pretty good song, although the live recordings of it aren't great. I was hoping it was going to be on the boxset, or to find a soundboard version or a decent quality demo version.

Johnny is the best :p And his shows are amazing !!!!

No i know what you mean, true it's different since the Goldman work ... but Johnny is a legend ! and a very nice man (met him several time and in the 60/70's my parents used to go out with him and the band)
After, what David (his son) wrote for him is quite good. Davis is "un amour" too :) and my son is a huge David fan, it was his first real concert so i have all his cd's at home and i love him too. They are both so nice in "real life".

Anyway i love both versions :)
