What do you think?how many ballads

hi,what do you think how many ballads will there be on the next album.i read the tracklist and i wonder if there are perhaps three ballads on the album.hopefully only two, cause i want more rocksongs.
what do you think when you read the tracklist?

Stut 08-05-2002 07:53 PM

Which tracklist you mean? There are 2 of them and neither of them is official. But if I look at the titles on the list that has 12 songs, there's probably 3 ballads. But I really hope that the album is NOT filled with them. 2 I can handle, and maybe even 3 but 4 is way too much. 0 would be ideal for me.

I would guess 2 or 3 real ballads and a few mid-tempo songs to balance out the rock tracks. One great thing about Bon Jovi is all the songs on their albums don't sound alike--like some other artists whom I won't name so as not to insult their fans. ;)

I'm not a real fan of the ballads (although they are much better than ballads from other bands) I think it would be okay to have 2 ballads but I don't want them to be released as singles. Because then I have to listen to them on the radio over and over again and will hate them after 2 weeks. But that's not gonna happen. I think they will definitely release one as a single. And I think from their (business) point of view that's just the right thing to do.

rumours go to two ballads a a single release, namely "misunderstood" and "all about loving you"
for me i don't like ballads too much- the more rock songs- the better it is

Drew2 08-05-2002 09:37 PM

I'm hoping as few as possible. Hopefully, it will only be in the 2-3 range.

Liz 08-05-2002 10:01 PM

I think 2-3 are ok

Sambo-Chris 08-05-2002 11:24 PM

I think there will be 2 or 3 since a lot of people love the ballads. If you ask me I could live without any or at least without such power ballads as Always and Stay. I like the old ones like I'll be there for you.

I think one or two true ballads and maybe two slower songs like wanted, dry county, wild is the wind or something to believe in, something like that, which don't count as ballads to me. I hope Misunderstood is a song like that (they said it's not a true ballad so)
And in the interview posted yesterday, Jon said there's going to be some epic songs on the album so.....

Taija 08-06-2002 11:16 AM

I hope there is maximum one ballad and then a few midtempo songs. But I guess 2-3 is more realistic.

I've read a magazine BURRN! today and it says that there are 3 ballads
on the new album. Those are Open All Night, You Had Me From Hello
and All About Loving You. Jon and Richie wrote Open All Night while
Jon was in LA to shoot Ally. Jon gave this song to Calista before recording,
and desided to put it on the album too because he wanted to
remember the good memory of Ally.

It also says that he has been very aware of having 3 balllads
on the rock album. He felt that was too many, but he had them
on the album because the lyrics are excellent.

what else did I read...? oh,

Misunderstood was written when Jon was in serious danger.
After spending 5 months in LA, Jon should have spent a time
with his family but he started working right after he came back.
Then he noticed that Dorothea and his children (even Copper)
were throwing at him an a**hole kind of look. He was like,
Oh, I didn't notice you guys were there and the atmosphere
became very bad. But Jon objectively felt it's a funny
situation and wrote this song.

Isn't it funny?
