Opening Band Contests
 

I live in Minneapolis, and I was surprised to find out that Bon Jovi is offering a local band the opportunity to open for them in the huge auditorium here. Are they doing this in other cities? I've got to say that it was a very cool thing of the band to do. Risky on Bon Jovi's part for a number of reasons, but hopefully very rewarding to all parties involved.

On that note, my friends' band is in the running for the "top 3" candidates. Their name is Down and Above, and they could never disappoint. If you have a moment, please throw a vote in for them! The truth is that they're big time Bon Jovi fans, and when they heard of this opportunity, they flipped out. They're even more ecstatic to have qualified in the top 3 running. What's funny is that they covered "Living on a Prayer" at their Halloween show the weekend before they entered the contest.

Are any other cities holding this type of contest? If so, post about it and let us see/hear who will be supporting the band. I think it's great!!
