TFT Monitors

Ok, I am probably gonna get me a new Monitor around Xmas time and was unsure what to get. I currently have a Samsung 17" Sync Master 750s CRT monitor, but its at least three years old and its about time I got myself a nice new upgrade. I am definately gonan get a TFT Monitor I think...still undecided on whether to get a 17" or a 19", but Im thinking if Im gonna upgrade, I may as well upgrade properly and buy a 19" :)

I only have a smallish budget, well im looking to pay anything upwards to around £220. It has to be in silver too hehe.

I have seen this on Amazon and it looks rather good. Basic, but I dont use it for gaming or anything so I thought this might be alright.

Can the JT PC Freaks :p help me chose one?

Iv got a 17inch monitor and it seems massive, cant imagine using a 19" one all the time. Have you checked it will fit in you "office/cupboard"???

I like the colour though

I thought about getting one myself for Xmas, but I'd rather get a new hard drive instead, I'm happy enough with a 17" CRT

I love my 19" monitor :)

Carli, yeah it should fit no problem. Only just like, but yeah a 19" would be fine,. Id save so mcuh room at the back of the 'room' with a flat screen. I have been using a 17 monitor for three years now, and a few mates have 19" monitors, so perhaps im a little jealous. I dont have a widescreen TV in my room, so it would be nice to be able to watch dvds on a cool 19" monitor if necessary :D

Neil, I need a new HDD as well, but I am thinking this is more for the long term future. I would fill another HDD really easily. I just have to start backing data onto dvd more often and I should be fine. When you think about it 240gb (2x120GB HDD's) should really be enough for anyone. As long as my new job goes well and I am saving enough for the tour, I will get a nice 320GB HDD to replace 1x120GB :D

It aint the same for me watching DVDs sat at my computer

I have a 40gb HD at the moment, I don't know how I manage lol

If you really think its worth it for you then go for it, why not go for a widescreen monitor even. If you don't do much other than web browsing though a huge monitor isn't exactly a neccesity I think, moreso for people who play games and do lots of multimedia work.

Me either to be totally honest, but firstly, I need a upgrade anyway, coz im sick of having a CRT, and it will save me having to buy a new television as well, which could set me back another couple of hundred quid, so my purchasing a larger monitor, I kinda kill two birds with one stone, if ya get me...

Well if you wanted a new TV then why not try to spend slightly less on a monitor and buy a TV card for your pc aswell?

Nah, it woulnt feel right watching Corrie on my PC LOL! It is a good idea though. A TV card might be quite usefull, especially to 'rip' shows. How much are they anyway?
