Email To The Future

http://forbes.codefix.net/capsule/

i wrote one for myself to recieve it 20 years later, must be nice to get the email when i'm 41.

That site hopes to be around a while then in order to send them, and I doubt that we'll all be using the same email addresses in 20 years, probably a whole different system anyway, so rather pointless I think.

well you can go for less years, but i hope it will work for the next 20 years.

it kinda reminds of Back to the futere part 2, you know, where the professor sends a letter to martin from the wild west era to be ricieved by martin exactly the same moment the professor went back to past.

I'm going to send myself a couple I think :)

BTW, is there anything nowadays that isn't sponsored by Sprint?

My favourite films ever lol best example. I love that moment after he reads the letter; "You need any help?" "There's only one man who can help me" and it cuts to the clocktower, brilliant.

Anyway, I wonder if you can have letters sent like that to specific locations at specific times? I want to do it with the intention of forgetting about it and getting a suprise letter from myself someday (that email thing probably won't work, as I said that site may not be around in future, nor may we all be using the email addresses that we use now)

That is pretty cool.

Let's see if I find something worthwhile to tell myself when I am 55!!!

20 years ago, there was no internet and we didn't know what email was. I had a penpal from Italy and one from South Africa somewhere. I had to go through a service to be 'set up' with one and had to pay a fee. I got my contact and it was this guy from the lago maggiore :) and girl from S.A. I thought it was the coolest thing on earth. I had to handwrite a letter (on that thin airmail paper you could buy) and ride my bike to the post office to have it weighed and stamped. It took forever to get there and forever for the mail to come back. It was rather exciting!! Now, all of you communicate with each other and if you want daily or hourly or whatever - no hassle, no match.com - it's soooo easy....

Just had this urge to reminisce :)

Oh, and Arash! Tell yourself what you think your life would be like once you ar all grown up and what is important to you now and what you think will be important to you then. Tell yourself all your hopes and dreams, cause your memories will get a bit foggy once you get older :?
