First Semester of College (Uni)

My coach called me yesterday morning to give me the results of my first semester of college and to my surprise, I passed with flying colors! I have a 3.25 GPA which is over a B average and am one of the shining stars at the school. That's so great to know because I worked very hard every single day. I was averaging close to 3 hours of homework a night and was worried about not passing a thing. The reward, the school is paying for me to go to Kansas, Kentucky, Arkansas, for some church golf outings! I'm very excited!!! Hope everyone has a Happy Holiday!

cool cool i've managed to rack up a solid B status this year too but it doesn;t mean too much over here unless you do honours which i'm not.

i assume it's a christian college you're at then? what's it like? one of my mates has had a couple of scholarship offers for next year for the US but they're all christian colleges n he's not sure what to expect. he's not exactly the most religious or "behaved" person around.

Well done Ryan. How do you calculate a GPA though, do grades get a certain ammount of points there? We never got anything like that, either just a letter grade or a percentage.

Still waiting on my own grades, they are quite crap at handing back work and grades. Last year I just about got a B average I think, and I think I should have managed it again this semester, probably higher actually.

GPA is what you call your grade point average... It's the average of all your grades combined. The scale goes like this...

A Average - 4.0
B Average - 3.0
C Average - 2.0
D Average - 1.0
F Average - 0

Jim, your friend is going to have to understand that he'll be having to go to Chapel most likely and have to take a few Christian courses. Other than that he'll just have to watch his language around most people.

Ryan
