Special Christmas Gift
 

Well... I've had a lot of time to think about what I was going to get Heather for Christmas and today I actually went out and acted on it. I wound up at Kay's Jewelers only to come across a promise ring that was absolutely beautiful. So I bought it. LOL It's very very nice. If I had a picture I'd show you but I spent a pretty penny on it. I told Heather awhile back that I'd never get her a promise ring. Come to find out, that wasn't the smartest thing to say.... I'm just really excited and overwhelmed over it. I only planned on spending about $150 on one. I just got overly excited and spent close to $400. LOL.... Hope she likes it! This is pretty close to it!

Nice to see things are going so well. Though I hope her surprise won't be spoiled by her seeing this thread. When do you plan on giving it to her?

A promise ring is like an engagement ring or is it something different and previous? I get lost in all this "love etiquette". Recently I found out there's even a "single ring" that you wear to show that you're - well - available.

I remember her, didnt you had a picture on this forum of her a while back?

She's in Colorado without computer access so I know for a fact she won't see this. I am giving it to her Friday when she gets back from Colorado. A promise ring is sorta close to an engagement ring. It basically means that one is promised to that one person. I got it to show her my love and affection for her and to basically say..."I want to be serious for a long period of time".

I received one like that for Christmas... don't know if it was a promise ring or an engagement ring, but the meaning was just as Ryan said. It was unexpected for me and I was quite shocked at the beginning...but it worked

maybe because....diamonds are a girl's best friends ;)
