Just Letting You Know...

My father is retiring today after 24 years in the United States Air Force. It's a proud day for my family and I! He's done well serving his country. My day is booked with the retirement ceremony and then a little party afterwards. Then we come home for a couple hours and have another party. It's a big day.... Going to see thousands of people.

That definately is a great thing. You should be so proud of him for being willing to serve the country for all those years.
It's good now tho cuz maybe you'll get to see him more like Jess just said. I'm sending my congrats for him!

Very nice Ryan - does he have plans for after retirement? I know a few people who have retired from the military but still hold the same job - just in a civillian capacity. They actually get paid more as civillians - go figure.

that is great he served our country that long~ i apperciate those who do that so much and often times people take that for granted.. side note my dad just retired dec 23 after 30 years as a corrrections officer... i am still shocked that I have a parent who is old enough to be retired!!

My neighbour's retired from the military since a few years now and works in AC installation :) He is just happy !!! It was too difficult to stay at home at 40 years old ... or 37 no sure.

That's exactley what he's doing. He applied for the civillian job around a month and a half ago and got it. He's going to get paid a lot more than if he were in the military. Plus, he has 3 months of vacation he is going to take so my father will be getting a full paycheck for his military job and his new job which makes my parents so happy. I guess money can bring happiness.
