Official site.

ROCK SUPERSTAR JON BON JOVI GUEST STARS ON “THE WEST WING” AIRING MARCH 26TH ON NBC.

BURBANK – January 9, 2005 – Jon Bon Jovi will appear as himself in an episode of NBC’s Emmy Award-winning “The West Wing” (Sundays, 8-9 p.m. ET).

Democratic candidate, Matt Santos’ campaign bus is abuzz when Jon comes aboard to lend his support. The episode, “Welcome to Wherever You Are” takes its name from a song he wrote for Bon Jovi’s current album, “Have a Nice Day.” Jon performs a part of the song during his appearance.

The episode begins filming today on the Warner Bros. lot and will air on March 26th.

I seen him in other acting roles, like on Ally Mcbeal and Pay It Forward, where he was just a character. But seeing him acting out a role of himself is gonna be kinda funny. Altho I guess he'll have it pegged better than anyone else would lol.

I'm not actually sure what the point of this is. I know he's a fan of the show but I didn't think he wanted to play himself in anything.

it a sneaky way to show support for the democratic party in a non election year
AND it increases visibility among a nice demographic

the west wing is a show jon has said is one of his favorites.. he's been saying this for years. i doubt he is doing it as a sneaky way to promote his political views.. he doesn't hide them.. and God who cares? it's probably to promote the music .. i mean why else would you play it if not for that "welcome" is certainly not a political song at all....
