Credit to Rockmusic over on the thread in Tour discussion for first posting this link, but its a great interview with richie. Good to hear, and he seems pretty adamant that new solo material is certainley on the way soon andi |
It is. Richie said that he wanted to finish the album before he goes on tour with Bon Jovi because he wouldn't have enough time then.
So not only the songs are written yet but they also should be recorded. |
and that's the best news i heard related to bon jovi since the release of the boxset.

Great interview and can't wait for his solo album, after the disappointing HAND I hope this will be terrific.

Thanks for posting. I'm looking forward to his next solo album.

Great news! Now I'll veer off the subject here. What was with his hair at that interview? Was it just me or did you guys keep wanting to reach up and comb it down? Oh I'm halfway kidding, I don't really care what his hair looks like.

It's great to hear that RS has written 15 songs.... really hope that the album will be out this year....it's been too long since we had a Richie solo cd

I sincerely hope that all members of this fine forum understand what a brilliant musician and incredible individual Richie is. Without question he is one of the most underrated touring musicians in the world, but only by the public, not within professional musician circles. When Richie came out with his solo album “Stranger in This Town”, in 1991, I stated as a young teen that his new album, which was an unbelievable showcase of his tremendous versatility and incredible soul, would be just as incredible in 20 years.
That was over 14 years ago and Stranger is still to this day an incredible defining piece of work. I remember when Stranger came out in Sept. ’91, after listening to it, my very first thought was that I wished Stevie (Stevie Ray Vaughan) was still alive to hear what Richie had accomplished. SRV would have been very impressed and I’m sure contacted Richie. Stevie Ray was just that kind of individual. And had the situation happened, I knew from that day forward Richie would never let Jon put him down again, use him for a personal stepping stone, or consider Richie just “hired help.” FYI, Stranger came out 1 year & 1 week after Stevie’s tragic death. I don’t want to see Bon Jovi break up, but I sincerely hope Richie moves on and captures the greatest he richly deserves. I know Richie is making staggering sums of money with Bon Jovi, but he has to define his legacy, and it will never happen “working for Jon”. PS: I also hope in the short-term, when Jon and Richie are fussing again, that without warning, during a concert, Richie moves to the front of the stage and breaks into one of his incredible and masterful solos (that Jon never lets the fans witness). No talk, no nothing, Richie just does it, leaves the crowd in an awed and smoldering heap, and let’s Jon know who the real master musician is on the stage. - End of Story. http://img366.imageshack.us/img366/8...c0114061ff.jpg Legendary Guitarist Richie Sambora Bon Jovi - Ford Center, Oklahoma City January 14, 2006 - Sold Out (18,240) |

I like your high opinion of Richie. I guess I hadn't thought of it in those ways before, never realized he was being used as a "personal stepping stoll" by Jon or anyone else. I was under the impression that they had a casual comradarie(sp?) between them and that they really didn't actually go head to toe on very many occasions and if so, once on a blue moon. But I'll take your word for it.
Ps: I was only just trying to be funny about his hair.lol. |
