I've got an EOS 350D and the max set shutterspeed of that one is 30sec as well. But it has a 'bulb-mode'; which keeps the shutter open for as long as you press the button. I've got a remote for my camera, with which you can lock the button, so you get pretty much an unlimited shutterspeed. The Nikon D50 has the same feature, so unlimited shutterspeeds for that one as well.

The D50 is a very good camera... I chose the EOS, because it's slightly lighter and smaller and felt better to me and I've used (and liked) Canons ever since I have a camera. But the D50 was my second choice anyway (although both camera's have newer versions out now).

Is that a sunset or a nuclear blast? lol I suppose you can't expect a lot from a phone camera though, even the best ones which are about 3-4mp still have to rely on tiny lenses and sensors. Nice photo's anyway.

lol i know it can look scary but i like the effect anyway. And I think that not even the best camera in the world could have pictured the beauty of that sunset. I miss that place :(

the sunset looks cool

My camera can get the sun sometimes quite nicely (1/2000 F/12.1) and the camera's I'm looking at for early next year to replace this have shutter speeds of 1/4000 so should get a better shot.
