it was a very clear view of the eclipse, loads of people were taking pics here to. Do you know why it gives the appearance of being red ? I cant remember.

It looks red because the only light reaching the moon is that which is refracted through our atmosphere.

I wonder if Sara had a go tonight at photographing the eclipse, she posted a shot of the moon once that she'd taken and it was awesome, far far better than mine, so I bet she could have got some beautiful shots.

...WoW Neil those are amazing photos!...I took quite a few..and a couple I was going to post here...but I don't think I will now! lol...The colours when the moon was eclpised are incredible..and the moon looks so 3D..Thanks for sharing them!:)

Lol yup I got some ;)

It was partly clouded over here, so I had to shoot in between the clouds. Unfortunately it clouded all over when the eclipse was at its max. I managed to get a few shots of the red moon just when a small clear patch was moving over the moon, but they aren't quite sharp. And these are almost 100% crops, so the quality ain't perfect.
