Concert concerns

I've been reading the reviews for their latest tour and have noticed that in the recent ones there were a few people saying that they look tired and not as energized. I'm set to see them next month in Portland, OR and am VERY EXCITED, but after reading that I'm a little concerned. Do I need to worry about being disappointed in the best band ever?

Just make sure you request ITA and the concert will be superb!

I wouldn't be too worried. I saw them in Omaha and they put on an incredible show, full of energy. It's cold and flu season and Jon has had something (I've read strep throat, the flu, and/or an upper respitory infection) so he had a few off nights with a scratchy voice, but most people have reported that he sounded great at most of the shows. Richie is obviously going through a bad time right now and several people have voiced concerns about his off nights, but he's a professional and he'll probably be even more on fire than usual for pouring his heart and soul into the music. Bon Jovi overwhelmingly puts on great shows and even their worst shows are better than many acts best shows.

I wouldn't worry~ Jon has been sick like others have said but I am sure they will still put on an awesome show. Listen to "In These Arms" from Atlantic City... Jon had a bad cold that night and even with him being sick it sounds frieken amazing!

I don't think he sounded that good. I thought it was just average.

Really? I was very impressed... there are a lot of long notes that Jon held out not so much the first baaaby but near the very very end at like 5 minutes 30 seconds the word arms... he holds out a looong time and I could hear a lot of control in his voice. I think I was most impressed with the fact that it was a known fact that Jon had a bad cold that night and he still went for those notes... it sounded like despite not feeling good he was really pushing himself on the song and I thought he nailed it.

Oh.. and let's hope Yomama doesn't read that and kick your ass! ;) He might make you wash your mouth out with soap for criticizing his precious ITA! :D

I haven't listened to the boot of this song but hearing it live Jon sounded quite good despite his sore throat. And he came a long way vocally from Thursday night in DC to Saturday night in AC singing the same song. The version on this tour sounds way better than it did on the Bounce tour even with Jon sick.
