Scalper Prices!

Have any of you checked into scalper prices? They're OUTRAGEOUS this time!

I got a 5th row ticket from American XS. My friend Colleen wants to fly down from MA and go to the show with me. To get her a ticket on the same row, same section would be $450 to $495. To put it into perspective, if we booked a flight for her today, roundtrip airfare would only be $290! Last time the guys played in Atlanta, I was on the same row, CENTER, and only paid $200 per ticket.

As long as people are willing to pay these high prices the scalpers will take them. In the End it's not their fault but the fault of the people who pay that much. Even 200 Dollars is too much for a concert. I wouldn't pay this.

I think it's insane, but as you surely can imagine that scalpers will continue to exist as long as people keeps buying from them. Francly, I don't understand how anyone can. I would never buy such expensive tickets. Not when a normal concert price is around (in U.S currency) 30 - 40 dollars.

I'll tell you why I'm willing to spend $200 or more for a concert ticket. To go to any show, I have to take time off work, drive for two days, and pay for a hotel room. If I'm going to invest that much time and money into just GETTING to a concert, I want the best seat I can have. Despite the fact that any Bon Jovi concert is fun, it's MORE fun to be upclose and not have to worry with the 7 foot dudes blocking your view. To me, and this is just me, it's not worth it to invest so much time and money into a concert to sit in the nosebleed section. This year I have to use 2 days off work. Had I not worked extra time over the summer, I wouldn't be able to attend the show because I only get two "personal" days anyway. Being a fan club member does me no good at all because they never play in any local cities.

So, while I think the scalper prices are outrageous thus far, I'm GLAD there are scalpers who provide a service to fans who want those good tickets. The markup on the $200 tickets last year cost less than taking time off work, driving to Atlanta and getting a hotel room to be at the venue to buy tickets as stipulated by the fan club regulations.

There is someone on Ebay who has 20 gold standing tickets for sale....8 for London..priced at £179 EACH and 4 each for the other three shows..priced at £159.....go figure how much profit they are making on these. This person has stopped genuine fans from getting gold standing tickets. It makes me so mad!! :x
