albany tickets

ok so heres my gripe!! i went to get my fan club tickets this morning in albany ny, stood in line for what seemed like forever! only 20 people in front of me so i am thinking I'm gonna get great seats. well i get up to the window and they inform us that they are not selling 1st, 3rd, or 5th row. (these went to radio stations for promotion) so instead of getting 2nd row like i should have, i got 4th row. now yes this does piss me off. arent we supposed to be getting the best tickets?? but no, some joe shmo will be getting the front row. this brings back a thought about the lucky people who have gone up on stage during the show. they are not fan club members either, just lucky radio station winners. but like my husband has said in the past and said again today~ the band is in it for the money (check out the price of those tickets) they know we are already hooked, we're going to pay the price for the tickets and the merchandise and all the rest. they're trying to make new fans from which they can make more money from. now i was obviously pissed and this started a discussion in line while we were waiting. and according to the security manager of the arena, springsteen (which is like huge, and whos show sold out here last week in 22 minutes) has a circle in front of the stage set aside for his fan club and only the fan club. which does alot of other performers. dont get me wrong i am a fan since the begining and will continue to be and pay my membership and go to all the shows (which brings us back to what my husband has been saying, they already got us hook line and sinker) but are we getting screwed here???????

Well generally the even numbered rows are set aside for the fan club and the first row is usually set aside for several different groups (radio station winners, record company execs, etc. and also some are auctioned off for charity). As far as the 3rd and 5th row, that does seem strange since they sold those rows in Philly yesterday morning, but that is usually NOT the rule. I hope things go better tomorrow in NJ!!

I got 4th row also. To be honest, I don't feel like I'm getting screwed. On the contrary, it feels like I hit the jackpot! I got my FC tix in State College, PA. They pulled a lottery for the entire line(about 200), including the fan club, who were mixed inline with gen. admission. Anyhow, it just so happened I got to be 20th from the start of the line, according to the starting number pulled.

Even rows 2-10 were for fan club and the odd numbers were gen. admission. My friend who was behind me in line, got 2nd row, while the friend in front of me got 2nd also. I got 4th row. Friend behind my 2nd row friend got 6th row. So it just depends on the venue and how the tickets are dispersed. Believe me, there are other fans who'd be happy to have 4th row on the floor, I know I am! Some get luckier than others. Bet if you got nosebleeds you'd be flipping out! I was fortunate to get 6th row seats front floor in Philly too. No way am I bummed!!! ( I should mention I haven't seen Bon Jovi in 15 years since the Slippery tour!)

As far as the ticket prices go, I don't feel I'm being ripped off. BJ's prices are reasonable as compared to say, the Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen. Could be worse. Have you seen what the scaplers are asking for on Ebay?!?! Now that is just not right.
But then again you can't make everyone happy all the time. I hope everyone enjoys the show!

Perhaps you're new here... but standard for fan club tickets are every other even row and front row always go to radio promo and auctions and stuff. You're bitching about 4th row? You're kidding, right? 4th row for a Bon Jovi show at the Knick and you're pissed off? Why the hell should you have had 2nd row? Did someone set forth a governmental decree? You're just JEALOUS, plain and simple. You got 4th freakin' row!!!!! Backstage passes and onstage passes and front row tickets... those are not privileges granted to fan club members. Perhaps you and husband don't get out much in the Capital District but the cost of Bon Jovi tickets is very reasonable given the climate and concert industry these days so before you start ramblin' on over the price of tickets and merchandise, know this: you didnt' have to go to buy tickets, you could have spent LESS money and got worse seats but you CHOSE to spend your money on fan club seats and now you're coming to this board for sympathy when you got FOURTH ROW!!!! Can we repeat that often enough: you got 4th row seats!!!!

No, you're not getting screwed here... but if you were expecting to be able to sit on Jon's lap during the show and get some sort of medal, you're missing the point. Perhaps you should speak to some fan club members who were shit out of luck when the NJ dates didn't have enough fan club tickets to get fan club members in the building? Or perhaps you should speak to some fans who have NEVER been able to see the band in their city or even their country! Get some perspective.
