sharing

Why can't people share files (everything exept copyright material) like people can on other fansites, for example RHCP?
I can download every concert, tvgig i want even on the official board.

File sharing Policy.

http://drycounty.com/jovitalk/showthread.php?t=31560

The admin and moderating team decided that it would be in the best interests for the board as a whole if NO files were to be shared under any circumstances.

This topic is not up for discussion and a reverse decision is not an option.

TheseDays2005 05-05-2006 07:57 PM

you made it only more strange with that.
Why have other (non-bj) fansites no problems with it at all, and its in their and everybody's best interest to share , (hell even a official board with their own server space to upload) and for example here not. And not talking about official stuff..

Thomas Anderson 05-05-2006 08:03 PM

How is it confusing? The sharing of Bon Jovi material is illegal, wether it is official or not, and as such Peter doesn't want any more of it going on here. There used to be a filesharing board and it caused problems, so it was closed. Just because some bands condone the sharing of bootlegs and such doesn't mean all bands do.

Okay, this is easy: that's the way things stand over here. If you think it's so problem-free then go create your own message board where people can share anything they want. When the lawyers and record companies come knocking on your door, then you'll get it.

Seriously - this is a privately-owned board - why do people keep on requesting explanations?

People wonder about things, people will ask about them. Privately owned or not. Duh.

Keeper 05-05-2006 09:55 PM

That's fine - but why don't they read previous posts on the same things before?

The Admin and Mod team would like to make it as clear as possible that NO files are to be shared on JoviTalk. None whatsoever. There will be NO exceptions.

The File Sharing forum has now been removed from JoviTalk, yet since then some users still decide upon themselves to post links to download songs, videos etc. This is why we feel the need to address this further.

I would just like to make everyone aware of the new File Sharing Policy here at JoviTalk. Most users accept this new rule, although some users feel they have the right to ignore it.

Since the removal of the File Sharing Forum, users are no longer authorised to post links to download official, live, bootleg or any other type of music or video file. This goes for mp3, wma, wmv, mpg, avi etc.

The moderating team have had to remove several threads/posts containing links to download new Bon Jovi releases, even after a warning has been made clear to all users. Please think twice about posting any others, as they WILL be removed faster than you think.

There are other places on the Internet to download music or video files, JoviTalk is NOT of these sites. and under no circumstances should files be shared via this site.

The only time when a user may post a link, however, is when material is being STREAMED from the internet (Not available for download).

In addition, please do NOT request for files to be shared.

I hope this is clear enough for everyone and please respect the wishes of Peter and the Mod-team.

Thank You for reading
The Mod Team

Nobody asked you 'not to say anything'. You are a board member and yes you have just as much right as anybody else to ask a question. I told you that file sharing was not allowed at JoviTalk and this decision was not going to be overturned. This is due to Legal reasons. Maybe other boards/artists allow this. We do not. It's that simple. I understand that you are unhappy about this, however that's just life. Some things you are entitled to. Others you are not.

We are all adults here, and I'm confident we can all hold adult conversations. If you would like to ask a member of the Mod-team, a question, in a civalised mannor, then we will do our utmost to assist you, however while you remain to be rude and use vulgar language, then chances are, your question(s) will remain unanswered.

I was going to send that in a pm LOL. However that is a sharing board that is an outgrowth of the one that used to be here.
