I found this Bounce Review in a Magazine and thought I share it with you.

As Bon Jovi charge up to their 20th year on the block, they release their eighth studio album and do not disappoint. It's an album that has been inspired by September 11th and sees many emotions brought about from the tragedy and what the months following the nightmare uncovered. It's Bon Jovi as you know and love them, but its also a stronger, more realistic, united, patriotic and optimistice band than ever before.

As far as music goes, 'Bounce' sees Bon Jovi playing harder than ever - in places - while still with their soft and loving trademark in others. In short, there's something on this album for everyone. You get the meaty metal riffs in 'Hook Me Up' and 'Undivided' (the latter most directly influenced from the US plane crashes, urging solidarity and togetherness) but the album also contains a number of ballads - 'All About Loving You', 'You Had Me From Hello' 'Open All Night' (Ally McBeal inspired) etc. It's great to hear Bon Jovi riffing it out as intensely as a band like Pitchshifter - with any luck thi will bring in some new rock fans. Hopefully this is a key to Bon Jovi's future - I personally wold have left off a few of the ballads and brought in more rockers. No album really needs more than on ballad - unless its a Barry White album.... in which ase we'll leave it on the shelf.

Tracks such as 'The Distance', the sensual, orchestral-tinged 'Love Me Back to Life' and 'Misunderstood' sit o nthe wooden fence in the middle. They're mid-tempo growers - the more you hear them, the more you'll like them. Not fast, not slow. 'The Distance' has a fresh, optimistic sound, a bit like a bright rainbow after a dark, evil storm. The romantic 'Misunderstood' begins 'Shoud I, Could I' and contains the 'should have drove all night' line that reminds you of Rob Orbison, with lyrics sentimentally voiced from a mate to his other half.

The story-telling 'Joey' has a 'Levon' air being very piano-driven and laid-back. 'Right Side of Wrong' is a cowboy style slow number. NOt quite as keen on these two, but the title track 'Bounce' in comparison, is on of the band's best ever, with an infection chorus you'll be instantly singing and bouncing along to. There's 'Love is War' riff in there somewhere, and the 'I just dont give a fffff' line is coller than an ice-cream parlour at thge north pole. 'Bounce' neeeeeeeds to be a single.

Yes Bon Jovi have bounced back. As said, its an album reaturing a rnage of styles with something for everyone. Hopefully new rock fans will take a listen and enjoy some of it, while the old die-hards can just sit back and smile to themselves, knowing that Bon Jovi have once again done them proud.
