Gender of 'Dry County' fans
Alright, this is to settle an disagreement about whether or not Dry County is a "guy song". I have the strong opinion that the term "guy song" should be limited to stuff like Misunderstood, where lyrically it's very obvious who they should appeal to, and not stuck on songs just because they have an epic guitar solo and harder edge.
So help me out... reply with whether or not you like DC, and if you're male or female. I'll keep a tally of the votes up here. (And I checked, but if there has already been a thread like this in the past... someone please point it out to me and delete this.) |
I think it really depends on the point of view of the person listening , you can twist most songs to fit you whatever gender...
Im female and love DC and the guitar rift... I dont see it as a male song. Dawn |

I'm male and love it, but then again ... so does my sister.

I'm female and LOVE Dry County.
I would guess though, that more males like this song than females. deb |
If missunderstood is a guy song then they failed miserably on making it appeal to guys in a musical sense, because allthough I like the song most guys wouldn't or don't.

I'm male and I love DC.

Well, i don't think it's either, myself.
Love the song and i'm female. Saying that DC is possibly a MALE song is erm......hmmmm, what's the word, i dunno. But it's like saying that all the ballads are girly songs, *bits lip as she says this* Always happens to be my partners fav song, as we were in asda last night it was playing, i said its not one of their best songs and he happened to disagree and tell me that always was abrilliant song, i then proceeded to tell him it never made no.1 in the uk!!!!
