Pissed Off
Thanks very much Jon. Whats the deal Cut price tickets = cut price show??? Some of us bought our Hull tickets for £65 and made a f***ing huge effort to get from MK to Hull for 7.30am Tuesday AM. And what for??? A sour faced frontman who rushed through every single song and did the absolute bare minimum to finish that show. Fair enough MK out of this world but not everyone went I just feel sorry for all those who swaped Wembley for that shower of shite.
Thank you for ending a brilliant tour on such depressing note. If the band only bother turning up for the big shows thats what il be doing in future too. |
And I was one of those Wembley people. MK was inconvenient and Hull sounded ideal. I cannot say that my £60 was well spent, for that price I expect a full performance. It did feel very half arsed, and as pointed out, rushed. Very, very little interaction with the crowd, apart from a couple of minutes for Jon to plug Who Says You Can't Go Home.
I think that radio presenter who came on before the start needed to point out to the band that it was actually the last night of the European tour, because it really didn't show from where I was standing. What a way to say goodbye for a few years. |
post it on backstage!

Believe me backstage are giving heaps to Jon too - they are not happy over there at all...

I'm not a Backstager so cannot get on there. Can anyone post some of their reviews up here, I'd be interested to read some.

Just proof that a mere setlist does not equal a great show. The set for this show looked pretty decent, if not a bit short.

1: I think you guys should give the band a break. The tour has obviously taken its toll on them, they all looked tired and worn out as you can imagine how grueling the tour would have been. It was still good just looked like Jon's heart wasn't in it which is understandable, he and the band deserve to rest after what has been an amazing tour.
Jon did slip on the way back up to the stage but managed to hold onto the bridge so he was alright, thankfully. 2: I'm really sorry for all of you, that the show didn't turned out as you wished... but it's your decision, if you camp for severell days. It's a risk you take and sometimes the show wont turn out as you expect, but I don't see the point in blaming the band for that...We had nights in Germany that were close to 0° and the show then wasn't much longer than Hull (talking about Hessisch Lichtenau) You do the same as the German die hard fans, that compared HeLi with shows like Munich or Düsseldorf, or Dublin. You're just doing it with MK...these concerts will always kick as, simply because they worked out in the past...small concerts like Hull or HeLi (28000) will never be like that, simply because there are more "normal" people... Of cause it's a pity, that the Band (it sounds like it wasn't only Jon) was in a rather band mood. But hey, they don't get younger either...and they hadn't too much time between the shows. All the shows, not only the UK shows...HeLi to Bern...6 shows in 8 days...you need time to recover...then again the last 4 shows within 5 days...they are on tour since november...probably they were simply exhausted...they didn't just do the Uk or European shows as most of you who are now complaining about Hull I mean, it's ok to be critical...but sometimes you have just to remember that after 8 months...you can't hide your exhaustion forever...and - for me - that has nothing to do with "not being professional"!! I hope they'll recover and the people in the States will see some kickin-ass shows, as I did... 3: I was disappointed with Hull, after being at MK where Jon and the guys gave it everything, Hull was a very lack lustre performance. Like others have said, he never interacted with the crowd, rarely smiled or even danced and spoke little to the others in the band. He never ventured near the fans who were in the pits on the stage. Like Helly said I'm sure the majority of first timers never noticed anything amiss but this is not what we're used to. Personally, I don't think him or the band were tired I just think Jon was in a foul mood, for whatever reason. At the end of the day whether he wanted to do the show or not (lots of rumours flying around about the reasons) people had paid money to see the band and they're professionals doing a professional job, they should have put the displeasure aside and given the fans a good show. Having said that the other guys seemed fine and the technical performance of the show was spot on. As far I'm concerned the European tour finished on an almighty high at Milton Keynes on Sunday, Hull is a show I'd rather forget about. 4: I have to say im am feeling wht you guys are for not having what you expexcted at last nights show, but your all still behind the guys right, no matter what, we may never know what was going on, their human afterall. Please dont loose Faith in them. 5: I have just got back in from the Hull show and have to say it was the worst show I have seen Bon Jovi do. OK they are probably tired but would it have hurt them to look like they actually wanted to be there, Jon looked really pi**ed off the whole show, no banter with Richie, he stood at the mike for most of the time and just sang, no introducing the band and no bow at the end. Very dissapointed to finish my UK tour seeing this and wish I had saved my £60.00 just posted this in the Hull pbp thread, but it belongs here more than it belongs there. I agree with everything you have said, and here are a few more thoughts about it too. Just got back from Hull, and I am totally deflated that the tour ended this way on such a low note and such a poor and lacklustre perfomance from Jon. Maybe the guy was pissed about something, but 25000 fans paid to be there, and he could have made something of an effort. Even when he was ill in Coventry, he pulled out all the stops to give the fans the best possible show he could in the circumstances. I and many others where full of admiration for him that he tried so hard, even though he felt crap to give the fans the best he could. Tonight, Jon just could not be arsed, he just wanted to get through the songs as quick as he could He didn't even break sweat enough to have to change his shirt. The show started off well, but after the first third of the show, there was no effort from Jon whatsoever, he was just going through the motions. There was no acknowlegement of the crowd, no banter, no interaction with the band, and he couldn't even be bothered to introduce the band when they left the stage. It was quite plain that Jon did not want to be there, and couldn't wait to get off the stage. I and many others feel cheated and let down that the European tour ended this way. Jon should just have refused to do Hull, and gone out on a high at MK, and left peoples memories and faith of the band intact! These are not just my thoughts, Karen and Kareen are sat here with me as I am writing this, after spending the last 10 days following the band around the UK, we just feel cheated and disappointed that the it's ended this way, and this is our final memory of what up to this point had been a fantastic experience. 6: I second that!!! I feel so deflated. Set off this morning on such a high ready for a rockin night. We sang our heads off to you give love a bad name - one of the loudest I've ever heard a crowd sing "Well done Hull crowd" - but still that did not lift his spirits. I am so glad I was there at MK 'party night' (sunday) cos tonight it was just plain 'Dull Hull' 7: I totally agree with everything that's been said, Jon just had no interest in being there - they shouldn't have played if it was going to be like that. I say they but I guess it was Jon, like everyone's said no banter, no nothing - I don't think he even introduced the band! I'm so dissapointed the tour has ended like this. 7 peoples comments, a load of americans are doing the poor jon thing |
there arent any reviews on at the mo
|
A lot of them are talking sense though. They blatently should not have added Hull (and I would have had to pull out the stops and kept hold of my MK tickets) if they couldn't be arsed to play it properly. They probably were tired, but so was I! I still managed to turn up, pay for my ticket, buy a tshirt, sing til I was hoarse. It's no excuse.
