My Experience At Show 519

This is nothing to do with Bon Jovi but their management company, promoters & the quality of people that they choose to employ. I attended the show on June 3rd at Hampden Park, Glasgow (my 519th show with Bon Jovi). Kevin McDonnell, who is venue security for Bon Jovi, hired by their management company not only evicted me from the venue but assaulted me as I was evicted. The local police are unable to do anything since the people around me can’t support me since they didn’t see the eviction & the security company, Rock Steady whose staff are unable/unwilling to provide an account of what they saw. They were all looking in the opposite direction, which also meant that instead of doing their job they were allowing smoking in a NON smoking venue & allowing other breaches of security including allowing non Gold Circle ticket holders within the designated Golden Circle ticket areas. In the process of evicting me from the venue, Mr McDonnell made only one statement “I want IT dealt with, I want IT removed” Take from this what you wish. He also aggravated a pre existing medical condition that I have (I was diagnosed with a deep vein thrombosis & the veins & ligaments are VERY sensitive & fragile & I have a permanent scar in the form of a deep red mark that covers the entire bottom half of my left leg) This caused me EXTREME pain, imagine a million red hot pokers inserted in your leg for a period of 2-3 weeks constantly, day & night. I have also had to cancel a vacation to Canada since the damage done by his rough vicious handling has caused further damage to my leg & has prevented me from flying since it would increase the risk of another DVT occurring, which according to my medical consultant would kill me. I have approached the promoters AEG & Marshall Arts but they have refused to respond & are unwilling to do anything. NO APOLOGY HAS BEEN MADE EITHER FROM THE BAND, THEIR MANAGEMENT COMPANY, RECORD COMPANY OR PROMOTERS. Do you feel that this is right or that they should treat a veteran fan of 22 years, whose first show was when they supported Kiss in 1984 at the Apollo in Manchester England, in this manner ?? Keep Rockin, supportin Bon Jovi BUT BE WARNED if you see a gentleman at a Bon Jovi show who has longish black hair, beard & moustache, is heavy set & about 5’7” to 5’9” in height. This is Kevin McDonnell. STAY SAFE

If you don't mind me asking...what was it you done in order to be evicted?

I was never given a reason, the gentleman refused to speak to me or give an explanation THAT is why I want to try & get to the bottom of this & my only way forward is through the forums on all the respected sites.

Do you realise that - assuming an average price of £30 over the 20 years, you have spent over £15k on concert tickets alone?

BadNat 06-30-2006 12:40 AM

Hmmm - summink don't sound rite here - sorry to hear you got to miss the gig - don't sound like you'll get to the bottom of ure situation if they r not willing to co-operate.......heres hoping you can move on from this and have another 22 years of hassle free gigging!

I'm from America therefore I say sue them for all they are worth.
I assume they are an American security company
Get a lawyer, or at least a consult.
heh
And I wouldn't go to another bon jovi concert or buy another disc until you got some kind of resopnse from Bon Jovi inc.

No excuse.

B

This is assuming you didn't do anything worth mentioning to aggravate them.
