I would say that one of richies guitars would be amazing build quality etc would be top notch. Gaz im not the best guitarist in the world either probably not in the top 5 as well but you cant beat a quality guitar. Sorry to mention it again but the playability of my jap aztec gold sambora strat makes it hard to put down. im pretty happy with my standards at the moment although im always striving to get better. Luckily one of my best guitar moments i managed to capture. www.putfile.com/andymarshal click on andy ballad once i have finnished my house im going to start practising properly again. Andy |
i dunno if i'd dig an anderson or anything too fancy.
i like good nice guitars as much as th enext man but there's a thing such as too nice y know? i dont want a guitar im scared to take out of the case. thats why i dont get people who shell out big bucks for a les paul or really nice fender and don't let it leave the house. you've got some nice tone on that recording andy and some hot playing. i intend to start learning and practicing properly once i get home from my busking trip (if i ever want to look at a guitar again that is) i've kind of rested on my laurels for the past few years with regards to improving or doing any substantial work on my chops. |
actually thinkin about it im prob in the top 3 no offense lol :p
no good job man! why is an anderson too fancy jim?? anyone know the cost of one lol??? |
andersons cost a coupla of grand +
they just seem like fancy strats and thus i think they're more for people who are bothered about how they look than how they play and ive always had an idea of them being fragile for some reason. |

Thanks for the compliment on my track. It really is the best guitar ive ever played it took me ages to set up the recording gear to get that elusive mix. That mix was my 7th or 8th try back then i was practising up to 4 hours a day. Now im luck to get 4 hours a week, although im banging away through my pod as we speak. Practise definately pays off. another tip is i dont consider practise to be playing something you can already nail over and over agian. you need to aim higher and undertsand the scales where the song come from and even try your own solo. you need to maybe try sweep picking for one week then like shredding the next week then chord structures the week after and then nail it all together but keep practising tougher and tougher solos. It pays to spend a lot of time on vibtrato, try to kind of rock your wrist back and forth as opposed to shaking your fingers of any other crap. You van tell a good guitarist by his vibrato or string bending technique. For example watch that youtube smabora lesson where he bends the b string on the 12th fret and then vibratos it, thats what to aim for. I does take me at least an hour to get into the zone of speed and accuracy ie bending perfectly and vibrato very few people can grab a guitar and instantly nail perfect bends etc. cant wait to start playing properly again. Who would be up for that? Andy |
i learned DC the other week and it took ages but now i can sit back and play it all the way through no problem, i can see myslef playin that song for a while now...which means i wont progress as much.
but hey all i do in the band is play a few licks, and chords, a few solos and sing plus make myself look good. ill try an get a few of duffs demo tapes and ill show you good, he shreds at like 240bpm like its nothin |
yeah man thats what i mean, ive rested on my laurels.
back in the day my band were one of the biggest and best unsigned ones on the scene here so i just kind of got into a comfort zone and thought, this doesnt require me to be able to nail sultans or anything like that so why bother spending time practicing when i can get by being this good/at this level? when i get back im going to try and hammer into some these days solo's. |

or we could pick a solo and see whos the best, this would be alot better IMO for tecnique and to have a guide line as to 8 people lpayin different stlyes and havin the odd bt of luck lol |
