i dunno remember about 3 weeks ago when i hit the side of the raiator with it well ever since then i cnat close my hand properly the thin corner of the radiator caught the top of my hand inbetween my middle two fingers just above my knucles. it was swollen all last week but it has gone down a bit now but its still bruised. plus i cant play guitar for more than a few mins a time. |
Never Say Goodbye - I'm actually quite chuffed with this one. The guitar could have been maybe slightly louder in the mix perhaps but, oh well!

well done my friend. especially if you have just learned it. here's my attempt. i had the opposite problem to you RS8, i've just got a new recorder so i'm getting used to the levels, so the backing is really quiet in the mix.
http://media.putfile.com/never-say-goodbye-solo Any suggestions for my attempt? the trills at the end are harder that i first thought what pickup are people using? i've gone for the neck pickup on my single coil strat. hopefully i'll post another attempt at bed of roses tomorrow, with the harmonics in the right place. |
Mine was done completely with the bridge pickup on my black paisley strat - the DiMarzio.
Nice attempt Andy - I'm likin' it. The mix is pretty good, you just have to whop the volume up a bit! I've had a listen to the actual song and, cos I was going completely from memory, it's not as close as I first thought. I just knew it was in A major and mucked around till I thought it was close. The trills at the end are bloody hard to work cleanly and, again, since listening to the actual track, you can hear it's not just trilling in four conscutive positions but a mixture of trills and single hammer-ons/pull-offs across the four positions. |
i've got a couple of tabs for this solo and they all say different things for the end so i don't even think they know what he plays.
I agree with what jim said about the ending, i don't really like it either so i've posted another version with an ending that i've just come up with. I tried to keep in mind what sort of thing richie might do in a live performance, but you'll probably think it sounds nothing like him. would like to know what people think. http://media.putfile.com/never-say-g...rnatove-ending |
I think the actual ending is something like:
Code:
|
I play:
e------13^15 tr---------15^17tr-------15^17--17---- B---------------13^15tr---------15^17tr-------------- G----------------------------------------------------- Or at least that's how i want my fingers to play it. It doesn't always come out quite like that. i've also posted my official entry for the bed of roses solo. it's not bad, a bit rough at the end. Again i've recorded it using my single coil strat. I'm quite impressed with the fat tone i'm getting out of even though it's only single coils. http://media.putfile.com/bed-of-roses-97 |
Doh! That's what happens when you don't have a guitar in front of you when trying to tab! :)

i really do think im out of this comp i cant play no further than about 10 secs into the solo then my right hand aches an i have to open it. ill try to post something but i cant promise anything cos it looks like i realy have ****ed up my hand lol
