my parents are away on holiday so ive basically been a walking disaster area all week and havent been in the house all week or made it to uni once so layign down wanted has been pushed back a bit but if i can get somethign together tomorrow or sunday ill do it.

it's so much easier with a 6 string. With the 12 string you can have played the intro perfectly right until the end and then you don't catch one of the strings and it just sounds horrid because it hasn't got the octave note (sorry can't think of the technical term for it). that pisses me off so much and i just get really frustrated, then i start to play like shit.
Although, when played properly it sounds much better on the 12 string than a 6.

i was actually thinking of looking into 12 string acoustics on the bus home today. maybe an electro acoustic for doing tom petty and cure stuff live but is it a real pain in the arse?

what do you do for strings too? im assuming you get 12 string packs but i cant ever remember seeing any....

im thinking about picking up my mandolin again and learning how to play that properly.

i was lookin into gettin a 12 string the other month bu thought about it a bit more and realised id only use it live for maybe 2-3 songs so there was no point

i buy packs of martin 12 strings, they cost about £8-9 a pack. they are funny things to get used to but i guess it just takes time. i've tried plenty of them in my time and i have to say that the easiest one to play was a £70 Stagg from ebay. the action was superb. it was the first 12 string i'd played and the first time i picked it up i played wanted spot on. for £70 quid you can't go wrong. ok it's a stagg but the tone was decent and playabilty was amazing straight out of the box. money well spent. i would love to try a martin, guild or taylor 12 string, i think they'd be awesome.
