How about some examples of these 'teachings' you speak of then? Do not kill? etc As we discussed they are pretty much common sense, and you are contradicting yourself if you said they were instilled in us from birth, but now they are teachings. Why teach us things we supposedly already know? Why go to a big stone building every week to pray to an invisible almighty that is evidently everywhere anyway? Why live your life by old, out-dated rules? Why believe a book put together to help the political career of whoever at the time?

I don't believe in any gods because I don't feel an emptyness in my life that needs filling, which you basically just said you do, so perhaps get a hobby.

I did used to believe in god but only because I went to a CofE primary school and it was forced upon me; having a priest splash water on my face when I was a baby, singing hymns, saying prayers etc but as I got older I started to actually question it, and what I found was a load of bollocks. If you believe it then enjoy your opressed life, but otherwise live life how you want to, not how some people from 1700-2000 years ago tell you to.
