Cameras at Giants?

Hi...Do any of you know whether the security is very particular about what kind of cameras people take in at Giants? I have a sony cd mavica and I'd love to take it in, but I don't want it taken *away* from me! Have any of you been hassled about your cameras before?

Hi,

I have a canon powershot A530 (digital zoom and video) and I had no trouble bringing it in either night. No questions asked.

I wish I would have known that sooner, I would have brought my camera!! I got hassled by security at Starland Ballroom in Sayerville for it.. but that was a festival-type show.. I went to that on 7/15.. and I didnt want to have to go through that again especially at Giants stadium.

Also had a problem back in 2000 seeing a show at Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC. We were on the mezzanine, I had a crappy 35mm camera at the time.. I was taking photos (from far away nonetheless) security called me over, confiscated my $7 camera battery and roll of film (with photos of my bday on them..) that really sucked... i was so mad.. ugh.

My bf had to go back to his car when we saw another show at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ - and drop off his camera as security turned him away because of it. Yet.. we went back to the same venue for another show and got in with no problem..

I guess it depends on who you're seeing or... what night ur going. Im never sure with security at all.. thats why im always hesistant to bring a camera.

At the Taj Mahal in Altantic City I was terrified to bring my camera.. we had floor tix to see Green Day.. I actaully brought my camera back to my car for fear of being ejected if they found it... and once i got into the show.. it wasn't even a problem.. i could have brought it in without a hassle.. grr.

But at the Bon Jovi show at Giants
When I went through security they looked through my bag but didn't open anything and didn't pat me down so.. I think you'd be safe bringing one there. Plus I saw a TON of people with cameras from where i was (waaay up in section 310). Of course.. I was pissed b/c I got through w/o a problem.. Lots of luck :D and enjoy the show on the 29th!!!

Thank you for the information. Ironically, another person started a similar thread about the same time I posted my first one in this. So I guess I'm not the only one wondering about these things! I should have/could have taken my camera to the Charlotte show. Instead, I took a disposable and the shots were just "okay" -- they are very grainy. I saw lots of people there with what looked like more elaborate cameras than mine, but I was afraid it would be taken away.

I need to get more courage! LOL

Thanks for the replies :)

At Giants Stadium for Night #2, security didn't even look in my purse. You should have no problem bringing a camera in there.
