Since the 2000 tour which band has been the best opener for BJ?

I cant decide whether or not its Nickelback or Matchbox Twenty, loved them both

Honestly, I've never liked Matchbox. I sorta liked Nickelback's songs prior to the concerts, but was very disappointed with their live show. How many times does a leadsinger (at a family show) need to use the f word anyways??

My vote would be for the goo goo dolls.

What makes it a family show? Or - when has Bon Jovi come to be known as a family show? I have always brought my kids to rock concerts and have not worried about the strong language but I work in construction and my language sounds pretty much the same. Quite honestly I don't think it odd to hear "Are you havin a good ****in time?" at a rock concert.

Last tour, at the Hyde Park concert Richie had a great pair of airbrushed jeans on with "**** me" painted across his ass. I heard some of the same comments then about it not being appropriate for kids. Richie and Jon and David all had their kids at that show though.

Not trying to cause an argument here - I'm just wondering how or why Bon Jovi turned into a family act.

Yeay I remember those jeans Richie had... Only Richie could get away with wearing those! ;) I know they were auctioned off a couple of years ago and they sold for A LOT of money (we're talking thousands of dollars). The money went to Steve Young's charity I believe.

Getting back to the topic though Nickelback were the best of the openers I've seen. Back in '95 I saw some terrible band called Bad Biscuit, I think one of Jon's brothers managed them or something. I thought that the Goo Goo Dolls absolutely sucked all three times I saw them on the Bounce tour.

I respect your opinion. I didn't mean to imply that the occassional curse was anything bad, or that Bon Jovi is specifically a family event-just that there were a lot of kids there, and the leadsinger from Nickelback seemed to use that word once per sentence for no good reason (he acted as if it made him "cool", not like it was his normal speech). Jon used the word **** at least once over the two concerts, but it wasn't obnoxious.
