Joey same concert.

Living In Sin sounded absolutely dreadful, whereas Joey was somewhat OK-ish, but still clearly a struggle. I think it's time to call it quits after the next album/tour, Jonny...

Hopefully he hasn't resumed writing those same old "power of we/living your life/getting up from your knees" songs again now that he's gotten everything off his chest regarding Richie, the record company, the football team fiasco etc. on THINFS and Burning Bridges... I'd greatly prefer some honest singer-songwriter type of stuff in the vain of LH or maybe even something like the less compressed stuff on Destination Anywhere.

There's no need for Jon to try to write potential radio hits, never mind chart toppers anymore - they haven't even had a hit in Europe since WWBTF and in the USA Who Says was the last time they got anywhere close to getting frequent airplay. Follow was released 9 and WSYCGH 13 years ago - there's simply no chance for them to ever hit the goldmine again.

I'd take passion, honesty and intimacy over forcedly-written gang choruses and the noisy "production" of Shanks any day. Also, Jon's current voice would fit (semi-)acoustic or otherwise small-scale music way better than it does the pop rock junk (anybody recognize the song I'm referring to?) of the last four albums.

Of course he has. Walls had already been a full return to the cliché overload.

That finished song Walls, I don't like it...
And since my brilliant memory still works... I remember Johnny said this last 24/SEP
"I don't try... to be something
I don't try to act like something
I gotta live My Life!"
O_O
I hope he doesn't make another THINFS...

I don't think this has been a dishonest or cliché approach at all, even though it is true, that it became boring and predictable. This is the stuff he went through during the last years and this is what mattered to him. He has always been this way, getting things out of his chest through lyrics, therefore, he's been honest. To go back to writing about the heartbreak and troubles of romance and relationships is understandably, out of his life stage, which is normal. My view is that Jon urgently needs to refresh the sound and the style of the music. The stuffed overproduced sound of THINFS is going to take him nowhere in terms of airplay, especially in Europe. I haven't really heard anyone liking Shanks' contribution, to me, he has harmed Bon Jovi and I don't see Jon's fixation with his work. Jon needs to lighten up the sound, come up with something fresh and raw.

WhamATC 09-30-2018 10:44 PM

I wonder if Jon is embarrassed if he knows everyone hears, especially in that Las Vegas performance a few days ago.
I wonder what the crowd thought at that Living In Sin performance.

Other than that it seems like the tour dates for I think maybe Europe will be announced October 1st tomorrow. According to this:
https://www.tv2.no/a/10106651/

It says that the date for Norway concert will be released October 1st.
