If it wasn't for the "remember that you're perfect, God makes no mistakes" line, I think I'd really appreciate that song. But this one kills it off for me time and time again :D

Yep. I always remember hearing the 30-second clip before HAND was released and I was so fond of the melody of this song. Then that line came along and I thought, 'Oh Christ'. Probably the worst lyric Jon's ever written.

It's not just that line. Everything about it is awful. The song sounds like a generic TV tune for some CBS sitcom with a mixed race mixed gender cast. The lyrics are stuffed with cliches and say pretty much the same for about 30 times.

Jon's rather proud of it though, he's mentioned it several times as for the song he was disappointed in most for tanking.

Haha Spot on! Always hated this song, but never really figured out why. That hits the nail on the head!

Would it be better if it was the soundtrack of a single race single gender show ??

Let's say a show with only chinese chicks ? or russian dudes ??

Maybe also we should make it single age as well, to be even more interesting. Let's make it a show with eskimo grandpas.

Next you will call a show "mixed species" because there 's a dog in it.

Oh, I agree. I like the melody and the basic idea of the chorus is fine. The lyrics in the verses and bridge are shockingly bad. Didn't Dave say that this was his favourite song on HAND during one of the promo interviews?

That's probably because he had so little input that he couldn't remember any other title. Riche also said in an interview prior to WAN that Because We Can was his favourite because it was obvious that he simply couldn't think of any other track at that moment.

It is true that I missed the point. But I thought if I have to miss it, why not mix it as well ?

I mean, it's not like everything has to be single point, single race, single gender, right ??

So I made this a mixed point, mixed race, mixed gender sitcussion.

Otherwise I am just trolling, but I think it is fun to troll when given the handle :)
