Rather mediocre sound quality, but this presumably marked the first time that the acoustic version of I'd Die For You and In These Arms as well as All I Want Is Everything, Something To Believe In and My Guitar Lies Bleeding In My Arms were played live.

Btw. anyone who isn't too keen on listening to this due to the sound and the maniac Japanese fans screaming - go to My Guitar Lies Bleeding In My Arms! I'd say this may have actually been the most interesting live performance of it with Richie playing a really long outro which I can't recall him doing (at that length) during other These Days shows.

Setlist: 01. Love For Sale [0:33] 02. Midnight In Chelsea [5:44] 03. Livin' On A Prayer [14:13] 04. Destination Anywhere [19:50] 05. Blood Money [31:08] 06. Bed Of Roses [33:39] 07. These Days [39:39] 08. Janie Don't Take Your Love To Town [50:02] There are Q&A sessions after almost every song as well. Here's some further info from one of the attendees: "This was an interesting show. It was a fan club only $350.00 per ticket, limited to 300 guests party with a cash bar at a New Jersey country club. The evening began with dinner while the PA played 12 new tracks from an upcoming Jon solo band album. Guest were asked to fill out a questionaire about what they heard and the questionaires were collected after dinner. Dinner was a very nice catered affair. After dinner Jon and 4 other musicians took the tiny stage in the lower dining room to play a short concert along with taking a few requests and doing a "question and answer"session. After the concert the musicians got cocktails from the trunks of the limos as they left and Jon spent a couple of hours mingling with all the guests taking time to talk with all 300 folks and take pictures with all of them too." |
Nice one Dominik!
These Days from this show has always been one of my favourite performances of the song, but now that we have the whole recording I have to say the same thing for Blood Money too! Is this the only time Blood Money had been sung by Jon in the original key? Because those KTF/TD era performances were half step down, as were LH/TC ones. It was clearly a challenge for him to sing that even in 1998, but he did really well all things considered. |
