Yeah - I've seen it live a few times now and it still gives me chills. I've also been downloading Leonard Cohen torrents like crazy as it's his first tour in 15 years. Unfortunately he is playing Canada and Europe - not here in the US :(

I've been a fan of his since 1967 and Suzanne.

Three times for me. All were outstanding, but the one in Greensboro was . . . I don't even know that I can find the right word. Definitely one of the highlights of the tour for me.

Is there a good video of it?

Unfortunately, no. This one would have been good, but it only has the first 1:30 -

That one was also taken by someone in the row in front of me, so that was exactly my point of view. There's a full version, but it is awful. Definitely doesn't capture the feeling.

Jon was on fire that night -- all night. We have a theory about that. Chris Daughtry is from the Greensboro area, so a large part of the crowd was there to see Daughtry, not Bon Jovi. We definitely got the feeling that Jon was determined to show those fans just who the headline act was. And he did. It really was a super show. That and the first night in Atlanta were the best ones I've been to so far.

Kathleen, how is the concert venue in Holmdel, NJ? (I can't think of the name right now.) I just discovered that John Mellencamp is going to be there on Friday, July 11, and I'm thinking about trying to make it. He isn't coming down here on this tour, and that's 4 days before his new CD comes out. I loved him back in college, but fell away at some point. I've recently started listening to him again.

That would be the PNC Bank Arts Center, and it's a lovely venue.
Good sound, and if it's a starry night it's really quite beautiful.

Thanks, Brian. The website said that there's a shuttle from the Aberdeen/Matawan train station, so I might try it. We're staying in Newark that night, so it ought to be do-able.

Thanks - too bad there isn't better video - that one is just too short :(

The venue in Holmdel is the PNC Bank Center (formerly the New Jersey Arts and Garden Center). It's an outdoor venue - the close area near the stage has a cover and then there are open seats and then beyond is a lawn area. The sound absolutely sucks there. I've been going there forever. My most recent concert there was Rush, last summer. We didn't even bother recording the concert the sound was so bad. That said - if they would upgrade their sound system it would be a nice place. They also banned drinking in the parking lot last summer as a few kids drank so much that one of them died

Mellencamp puts on a good show - I've always like his stuff. He was never a favorite but always appreciated.

-Drinking is banned at shows that draw what they deem a "younger audience" such as Fall Out Boy. And the kid died of alcohol, pot, and coke.

-The shows I saw had pretty good sound, though I stood pretty close to the sound system while on the lawn.

Good grief. If I go, I promise to behave myself.

Thanks for the info, Brian & Kathleen. Now I just have to decide if 6 concerts in 7 days is excessive? LOL
