In my opinion, he went all the way with that one.

Totally agree ! I was there and it was amazing .

That is definitely the best version from the tour, at least from what I've seen, but he still doesn't hit the final note truly, and I'm willing to bet with a little more work he probably could have.

Don't get me wrong though, it's a great version and I would love to have had it at my shitty Philadelphia show.

The best version of this song so far. You can feel so much soul and passion from Jon...simply amazing!

Yes this one was amazing too. I remember just watching the reprise with "I wanna fly..." out on the circle like a hundred times in a row :D

Just realized that, if the song would be performed with that much energy, I'd even like Till We Ain't Strangers Anymore:

LOL I walked out that gig yesterday. The sound in the venue sucked and the setlist too. I left after Everyday when they started Born To Follow. The band was really sloppy last night. They messed up Dc and some more, I thought Just Pink was better.

Live in Red Bank 1996, full show proshot with interviews etc

01 - All I want is everything
02 - Damned
03 - These days
04 - You give love a bad name
05 - I'll be there for you (Richie on vocals)
06 - Someday I'll be Saturday night
07 - Rocking all over the world
08 - Keep the faith
09 - Wanted dead or alive
10 - Run Rudolph run
11 - What a wonderful word (Tico on vocals)
12 - The Chanukah song (David on vocals)

Interesting setlist (no Prayer, Bad Mx), and what a bunch of opening songs! I'm assuming this was a fanclub show?

It's not the full show, it's from a video Backstage released back then. The order of songs is changed quite a bit. The full show was similar to the 1996 set with the odd surprise here and there.

Watching it now, those Backstager events scare me.

What's the full setlist of this show then?

And irregardless of whether it is the full show or not, it has interesting choices and I am sure people will be interested to watch it.

All I want is everything is a great rocker, I'd put that up alongside of Good guys, Hey God and Damned as some of their best rock numbers. I miss the 90's.

I don't know if the full setlist is known, I don't have access to my files right now. And yeah, it's a good document of the '96 era, not many videos are circulating of that tour in decent quality. :)

Sebastiaan

The live performance of Love's The Only Rule is everything that is right about the band. A new song that Jon cared about and put in passionate performances. And he took a chance, getting the crowds to sing along (whoa, oh, oh, oh) when only the true fans were familiar with the song. Although he completely muffs the lyrics out on the circle from that version in L.A. I like the one from St. Paul:
