Talking about These days, I prefer Richie's solo version from last year by a mile……

I don't think Richie ever suited 'These Days' or 'Lay Your Hands On Me'.

However, his performance of 'Homebound Train' was stunning and his versions of 'I'll Be There For You' were 10x better than Jon's.

Compared to when?

Richie was always a better vocalist than Jon. (That sounds weird. Your guitarist has a better voice than your lead singer). but Jons voice was still great and most of all, had a distinct tone. He always delivered with passion as well as carried that uniqueness. Jon knew how to deliver a song better than anyone back in the day. He could make it go right through you.

If they were both on American Idol being judged on their voices, Richie would probably always win but if they were being compared on their delivery, Jon would always take that victory. (I'm talking vocal primes).

I worded it horrifically. In my opinion, I think Richie gives a different edge to 'I'll Be There For You'. There's more power to it (regardless of it's a Jon performance from '89 or '08'.)

Always from Villa Park. Phil has made the end solo his own now, it's not gonna be as good as Richie's but there's so much feeling in it now, you can tell he's gotten comfortable playing it...

No. Doesn't work for me.

This is where you understand why Richie is the professional.
